Feet position in a Mei Tai/what should DS2 wear in them - Help please!

Morning, I am unsure where 7wo DS2's feet should be, they're in the frog position tucked underneath but do they need to be tucked underneath him or his knees pulled up and against me? I use my Victoria Slinglady more and in this weather (as the Mei Tai is thicker) would like to use the Mei Tai more. Also what age are DC's when they can have their legs out of the sides?

Also he's currently just wearing normal clothes or sleepsuit with a cardigan over the top and his socks pulled right up to his knees and booties.

Thanks

I think whichever foot position is comfy for him is fine.

I found baby legwarmers worked really well in the winter once Ds had his legs out - he needed very little extra apart from a hat

Brilliant stuff thanks. I shall Google baby legwarmers. Grin

It depends on the carrier - some babies can be legs out from birth in a stretchy wrap (although some will prefer froggy) whereas most will be legs in for longer in a mei tai. It will also depend on the width of the mei tai: you can cinch the bottom in with a ribbon or similar if it's too wide and he wants legs out.

For froggy position generally their knees should be up higher up against you.

For a cheaper option to baby legwarmers socks either intended for adults or much larger children pulled up to the thighs also do the job! Or cut the feet out of them if you really want legwarmers!

Hi PB, We do the legs out in the stretchy wrap as we use the front cross tie so theres lots of fabric between the legs so they're still kind of froggy.

I'll try him with the knees up in the Mei Tai as sometimes he gets cranky with his legs underneath, I couldn't see the leg position properly on the instructions.
