hi,

the title says it all really. I'm expecting DC2 in a couple of weeks, and know that the delivery will be a c-section. I'd like to use a sling with the baby, but as it isn't something I've used before and from reading down the thread, and looking at some websites know that some of them can be used from birth. I'd like to use a moby wrap or something similar (I've had back problems in the past, so think something that distributes the weight on both shoulders will be best), but read something (unfortunately I can't remember where) that you shouldn't use slings after a c-section. How long should I wait? I have to say that at the moment I'm not sure how much I'll use the sling outside, but I was thinking more of using it around the house to keep the baby with me, leaving my hands free to play with DS/get on with housework.

Hi,
I probably can't really give you the advice you want. But, I had a section 2 weeks ago. I've been trying to put DS into a wrap sling (a calin Bleu, very similar to a moby) I probably tried the first time after 1 week. He doesn't like it at the mo and I haven't got my tying technique up to speed. However, I have had him in in for about 10 mins and didn't find it uncomfortable at all.

So possibly just give it a go when you feel comfortable. We're allowed t carry things as heavy after the baby post-section, so a sling shouldn't compromise this at all.

Good luck!
