Can I learn to wrap from an instruction book/you-tube?

I have a soft carrier at the moment, which is lovely. I'd like to get a wrap though. For various reasons getting to a sling wrap will be tricky.

Can I learn to do it from you-tube? The wraps I've seen say that they come with good instructions...does any one know if they are that good though?

I've narrowed it down to woven Storch, Girasol or Hoppediz, if any one has any tips on my choices that would be great too...

I learned to wrap from videos on YouTube. There is a video on here that gets recommended time and again for the very fact that the young man doing the wrapping is easy on the eye.....But that's for a stretchy. Still worth a perv though Wink I've had a Hoppediz, which I think is one of the cheaper wovens, and found it excellent, really very supportive.

Thats hopeful, thank you! I think I have seen the stretchy wrap video, the one where he doesn't say anything...

The Hop ones do seem a bit cheaper which is good for a first one (apparently it is addictive), of course the one I like the best is a special or something and about £20 more than the others!

I learned loads from you tube! I would recommend a girasol too. They are fab. Also try the natural mamas forum - they are all about babywearing and are a fountain of knowledge for all things wrapping, soft carrying, ring slings etc. Their website is www.naturalmamas.co.uk i think. Good luck! :o

Yep, I learned to wrap from YouTube. It's worth watching a few different videos of the same carry as different people show it different ways and it might take a particular way to 'click' with you, if that makes sense.

There are loads of links to videos of to how to do each carry on www.slingguide.co.uk www.naturalmamas.co.uk and www.thebabywearer.com

I learned all my Hug-a-bub wrap positions from the DVD which is freely available on Youtube now, though split into different carry styles. I imagine all those are transferable to stretchy wraps in general and the display was really clear - I was able to show someone how to do the basic front carry from memory, 2 years later.
