What Carrier & wraps do DP & I get?

with DS (5) I had a tomy one of soft I think the safari one rings a bell, however I didn't trust it at all (was 3 weeks approx in it) and I had horrible visions of him falling out so in essance I carried him everywhere whilst wearing it - needless to say within a week i'd stopped.

anyhow, I want a wrap this time, I love the look of them and the closeness (also the fact it will be easier I think to cope with a 5 year old including the school run & walking the dogs etc.) but not sure which to go for. There's the

storchweine wrap which I really like the look of - will it support a newborn well enough for me to feel it's secure & not worry about having both arms by my side?

In addition to this however DP think's they're more of a 'mums' thing, but it's very open to a carrier - we're thinking both tbh, what's a good carrier out at the moment - he's favouring the standard black types?

i have a storchenwiege and i LOVE it. still use it for ds3 who is nearly 2

the woven wraps are deffo worth the extra money?

i think they're worth it because you'll use it longer

i had a moby when ds2 was born which i loved, don't get me wrong, and it's a great way to start wrapping if you haven't done it before.
but once he got past about 9 or 10 months it just wasn't supportive enough

a woven wrap can easily be used for a hefty toddler as well as a newborn, it's just a slightly steeper learning curve!

thanks for the hints, i'm a total novice, and like the idea of the baby being able to be slotted in and out as it were if shopping etc, would a stretch one be better for this - (to wrap before we go as it were then drive to location & put bubs in?)

yes definitely. you can wrap something like a moby in the morning and then just pop baby in and out of it all day.
