I have a small baby who is currently 5lbs 10, so some of the slings I have been looking at aren't suitable (also have a baby bjorn which I didn't get on with with dd and which seems only suitable from 7/8lbs and I really need one from now.

I have done a bit of research and have seen the close parent close baby carrier or a wrap style. If I am honest as this will make my life hopefully a bit easier am not too worried about cost at the moment (within reason - under £50 would be nice). Now one problem that I do have is that I am the person who has bought an Isabella Oliver Wrap top and struggled to wear it throughout my pregnancy as I am not very good at the tying aspect - not massively relevant but am wondering if this will make me get cross with one of the wrap carriers that I have to tie myself as IO isn't exactly difficult!

Wonder is I could draw on your experience - also quite tempted by the fact that I could go to Mothercare tomorrow and buy the close parent - but any advice would be most welcome!

Thanks

Personally, I'd go for a wrap everytime. I loved my HugaBub for my baby up until around 6 mths, then I got a woven wrap which I still use every so often (DD 11mth now).

Wrapping does take a little practice, but after a few times it becomes much easier, and is so comfortable & versatile.

I've always used wrap styles that you can wrap once and then pop the baby in and out of a fe times before needing to re-tie. Very handy.

we have just bought the Close baby sling at £52 on amazon and tbh I think this is going to be a lifesaver for me. DS2 won't settle when he's put down and I need to do stuff around the house and also out and about so hoping this will make life much easier. Haven't tried it yet - got it through the post this morning so waiting for him to wake up! Will post again to let you know how we get on.

hi lovechoc, they had one in mothercare today that I went to try on - (and don't kill me it is a plain one but it was reduced to £44.99), tried it out and although a little unsettled in it ds quickly got the hang of it as did I and he was unsettled due to being "starving"........
So far so good, hope you have as much luck - it was quite easy to put on straight away so am hoping it will work.
