@AnxiousApocalypse , it can be done with SW, if you can commit
There's a zillion easy recipes online which are free or Swip'd for you
I find it easy to batch cook and make up meals in old take out cartons to heat when at work
SW is really easy tbh. It works on the premise that no food is not allowed but best results come from home cooking and avoiding the UPFs
So make a lasagne from scratch using 5% meat, its free - you dont have to weigh or measure, buy a ready made one, there will be swips ( syns ) and you are only allowed a certain amount of swips a day
Buy a sandwich from a supermarket - swips are used, fill a warburtons wholemeal pitta - its free
The basics are all veg and most fruit is free - eat as much as you like
Lean meat - no visable fat and 5% mince - free - eat what you like
Grains and beans - free
Pasta and potatoes ( plain ) free - but only eat till full
You also have a dairy allowance, a fibre allowance and now a healthy fat
Im a drinker, so I use my swips on that so to allow for that I home cook and eat from the free foods.
I miss out on not a lot tbh . I have always home cooked so I know how to make a free food Chinese or Indian. I make kebabs, fish and chips - even have chip/cheese and curry sauce when the mood takes me
My normal day - when there is a normal day - is yoghurt ( greek - free ) and frozen berries and if really hungry a sliced banana or pear, and raw oats. Really filling. Just throw in a pot the night before - ready to go in the morning
Lunch would be warburtons protein thin ( free ) topped with loads of salad and pickles and protein - or a wholemeal Pitta stuffed with the same
Dinner would be the typical family dinner - a roast - ( air fryer and spray oil on the spuds ) loads of veg , fish pie, spaghetti Bol, curry, - whatever, I just pile half the plate with veg and eat away
Ive been working shifts on and off since Ive been on SW and I manage because I plan ahead . A pot of soup does 3 or four lunches, a good stew - 3 or 4 dinners, making sure Ive greek yoghurt, hard boiled eggs and lean sandwich meats in the fridge , along with piles of salad and a lot of frozen veg in the freezer
You can do this. It takes commitment. It took me 6 months to get to target and Ive stayed within target for two years now I eat loads, Im not ever hungry enough that Im reaching for instant gratification from the biscuit barrell because I have made the changes I need to stop me. There's some foods I cant have in the house because if I start I cant stop , and there are days when I go completely off plan , but mostly I now eat a healthy balanced diet
