Any success? Did SW in group quite a few years ago now but none of my local groups times/days are suitable and honestly the thought feels me with dread anyway. I expect the plan has changed somewhat since I’ve last been.

I did lose weight last time but gained it back and more.

has anyone had success with doing it online?

Or stick to calorie counting?

I started SW back in September last year, although it did kick start my weight lost, I didn’t really stick to the rules for that long before more by accident than anything fell into a ‘High protein, low carb healthy eating plan’. As a result, I lost over 4 stone in 9 months, now I am 12.5 stone and feeling healthier than ever.
My first question would be, Is your head in the right place? In other words, are you mentally prepared for this. A lot of diets fail because people look at food the wrong way. Food can be used as something to be enjoyed but primarily it should be seen as a means to keep you alive. One of the main reasons we get fat is because we eat to enjoy (and the most enjoyable food is normally the unhealthiest) and we normally do this at every meal time, and because the weight doesn’t go immediately, we just carry on doing the same, conversely when we start dieting, we don’t enjoy what we’re eating and the weight doesn’t come off immediately so we give up on the diet.
It is hard not giving in to the temptation of the wrong food, the bright colorful packaging is there for a reason, who wouldn’t choose a pack of biscuits over a carrot based on packaging alone. Resist the temptation to buy the wrong food while out shopping and you are half way there, (if you have other people in the house appreciate this is difficult, best thing to do is bring them on board they need to eat healthy as well)
I wouldn’t bother calorie counting (not initially), just eat high protein meals 3 times a day, if your slightly hungry an hour before your next meal then that’s where you want to be, don’t snack as this is just the body’s attempt to get an ‘easy to use fuel source’ rather than go to the reserve supply. And again, it’s all about your mental attitude, see hunger as your friend. I always perceived a slight hunger as a good thing, if I was hungry then my body would have to burn fat to keep me going.
My advice would be to forget dieting and just eat healthy, have a look at high protein low carb diets, there are 100’s of video’s on Utube watch a few and decide for yourself which to follow.

Good luck on your journey,
