Hi

I am a relative (second time round) newbie to SW and so far so good . After years of yo-yo dieting I would really like to get to my target weight and stick with it this time. How many people have managed that ? Would love to hear some success stories!
.Thank you .

I reached my target weight but don’t actually attend SW any more. I started SW in Oct 21 and reached target March/April 22.
I broadly stick to the same SW way of eating, so lots of veggies and protein, limited dairy, controlled amount of snacks, I like the SW recipes so that helps too.
I am very wary of piling large amounts of weight back on, so if I’ve overindulged because of holidays or socialising or whatever, then I make sure I have a few “strict” days to get it under control. It’s easier to lose 3lb than 3 stone!
My best friend has stayed at target for over 15 years, other friends have been less successful, they’ve lost the weight but then gone back to eating how they used to and put it all back on.

I got to target a year last Feb ruary. Stopped going to meetings and put half a stone back on before returning. Then stopped again and, you've guessed am not 10.5 above 🎯 The moral is to keep going and weighing in even if only once a month.

If you ever read the SW magazine there's always stories about people who have stopped going to meetings and put the weight back on. I think it depends if you need that accountability or not.
I found my local meeting boring and a waste of time so once I'd learned the plan I just followed it online. I'm quite happy doing my own thing without group support though whereas for some people they really need that aspect of it.

I need that support and accountability, definitely ! Well done for sticking with it..

I've been at my target for twenty years, after losing three stone. I still go to weekly class for weigh in.

This sounds very sensible - can I ask if you're still around your target now?

Yes I'm still at target, and still get a kick from being able to see my collarbone Grin

I didn't realise until I lost weight how much room it took up in my head.
As well as being physically lighter I feel mentally lighter. I'm just annoyed that I didn't try SW sooner, I thought it was some sort of con or cult or something.

Thank you, I was overweight for about 25 years so I think I'd convinced myself that I wasn't ever going to be a healthy weight.

New target member here and I still need the accountability of weekly weigh ins.

I do have mad days but for the most its stick to the basics. I weigh mid week to see if Ive got to pull back on things before Saturday weigh in, At the moment there is chocolate in work as in most places and Im no saint so Im extra mindful for meal times. At the moment Im sticking to 2lb either side of target and tbh I might drop my target in January as Im doing dry January and I usually lose weight when I do that

Its definitely a lifestyle change , no point losing it to gain it again. Im loving that Im back into proper clothes and look smart again - I slobbed about in trackkies since lockdown
