I know SW gets a lot of bashing on social media Tiktok etc but..

I am heading into 2023 nearly 7 stone lighter (Since Feb 2022).

I am 4lb away from 7 stone loss hoping to hit that before new year!

I feel like a completely different person,

I am happier, more energy,I am a more active mum, I am much more concident.
I do things out of my comfort zone more,
It's helped with my anxiety. I haven't had to take my osteoarthritis medication in months, I can walk further, I can do more housework without needing to take a break!

I still have A lot of weight to go probably around 9 stone 6lbs!
But I really feel like I achieve this!

Let's have some positive stories of weightless with SW so if others are looking to join they can gain some inspiration!

Well done OP, that's amazing!
I went to SW a few years ago. I really liked it. Especially not weighing everything, sticking to food groups and the odd sin. I lost weight gradually and got down to my goal weight. I saw many people achieve amazing weight losses over the year that I went.
I thought I was pretty clued up about food groups but I learnt so much more, a lot of which has stayed with me years later.
TBH, I haven't heard anything negative about it. Keep on going, you will do it!

Wow! That's fantastic!
I hate the way people bash SW...it's essentially a low cal diet which works well with everyday life. I've never eaten a muller light or the dehydrated pasta and sauce before.
Good luck for the coming year-you can do it!🎉

DarkKarmaIlama · 16/12/2022 19:12

Well done you. It wasn’t for me though. I did it to the tee and yes I lose weight but I ended up with a large, painful ovarian cyst because the diet was essentially too low fat and messed with my hormones.

I did it a second time a couple of years apart and lost weight but ended up with an ovarian cyst again. Bizarre side effect for me. Presume it was just too low fat.

MandarinCat · 16/12/2022 19:12

Well done op. I think there are misconceptions about it from people who haven't been or only went once and misunderstood what it's about. You aren't required or forced to eat muller lights or artificial food or whatever it is people think.

mintich · 16/12/2022 19:13

Same, 3 stone down here and just under a stone off target. People make me laugh when they say it doesn't work and then you find out it's because they started eating lots of fatty foods again!
I had bad digestive issues that have all stopped since sw and I have lots more energy and my skin is clearer too!

Thegirlwithnousername · 17/12/2022 09:21

Well done everyone who have achieved great losses.

I think your right I have done it for months and haven't eaten a muller light.

Yes the ones who fail are ones that stop doing it instead of getting to target a
nd continuing it

DarkKarmaIlama! Sorry to hear about your cyst that sounds incredible painful!

That’s amazing. If it works for you, that’s what matters

I get alot of stick doing sw, usually from people who say they never lost on it because they ate too much. I constantly find myself saying that unlimited free food doesn't mean you should eat your own body weight in carbs.
Ultimately your body still only needs a certain amount of calories. If your eating 6 chicken breasts and 10 pieces of fruit a day and then 10 syns worth of chocolate swell as grams and grams of carbs you're going to gain weight..
I point out that if you stick to the 1/3 rule and only eat when you need to sw is essentially a low fat plan that encourages 3 healthy meals a day, no processed foods, to snack on foods with a high nutritional value and to moderate high fat/high calorie foods, which really is what we should all be doing anyway. The no weighing etc just makes it one of the easiest plans to maintain.
It doesn't go down well lol

I love slimming world !
I’ve got to target and back twice after having my babies.
i managed to maintain for 3.5 years! Have recently gained 7lbs since December for various life reasons but am back on it properly today to get it off.
why do people disagree with Sw so much?? It’s such a shame
