Anything you do and then stop us going to have this effect. Much better to change your eating habits permanently.

Not a fan of SW/WW myself. Found my lifelong solution last year but it seems fairly extreme to others.

What do you struggle to stick to? Are you an emotional eater? If you are and you don’t address it, you’re always going to find the same issues.

Yes you should give up SW but not accept you'll always be big. Calorie deficit and exercise is the only way to do it. I tried every diet going and lost weight but as soon as I stopped I gained it back. Calorie deficit is the only way and walking 30mins briskly a day. You can do it op.

It’s really easy to talk yourself out of making healthy changes because you’re worried about how you’ll feel if they won’t work. It sounds like you might be done with slimming world and it might be time to try something different.

What are you eating now? Can you start by making small changes for the better? It’s easier to stick to something that’s actually sustainable long term and you need to think of it as how you’re going to be eating from now on rather than a diet.

There’s a great thread on weight loss chat based around the book “why we eat too much”.

There are so many health risks to being obese. Don’t talk yourself out of doing something great for you (and your kids).

I thought I knew what healthy eating was before last year. Turns out I had a lot to learn.

I didn’t do it for weight loss but for health improvements. Eating for health lost me 2.5 stone in 3 months without trying or doing any planned exercise. My inflammation markers, iron levels, chronic bad back, emotional eating, sleep and energy all improved.

How did you do it. I'm addicted to sugar 😩

That’s not your fault. They put it in everything.

I barely touch it now. Or anything in a packet. It was a coached programme called Wildfit. Not cheap compared to SW, but the best money I ever spent on myself because it worked and is still working.

It works on the biology and psychology at the same time (more so than noom) which is where I think the magic is.

Please don't give up.

This time last year I was 21 stone 10 with a BMI iof nearly 60.

I've tried and failed slimming world over the years and always just thought I'd be fat.

I started a calorie deficit nearly a year ago and it changed my life. As I started getting smaller, I started enjoying exercise. And now it's a part of my life. I weighed in this morning at 14 stone 2.

Honestly, just because slimming world has failed. There are other ways to lose weight.

Calorie deficit really clicked with me and it doesn't feel like I'm on a diet.

Not a fan of SW type diets, it's too easy to put weight back on. Making lifestyle changes you can keep is better.

I'm an incredibly lazy person so would have been the last person to recommend gym/exercise. I have no willpower so signed up with a PT, I needed accountability and booked/paid sessions I have to commit to.

I'm encouraged to eat, but track what I eat, and I have personalised sessions doing exercise I enjoy.

I would avoid diets and 'quick fix', make healthy habits and look at weight loss as a long term thing.

I've been set 1750 calories but with that, I aim for 140g protein/day. I've lost 35kg in ten months and whilst the loss has slowed down now, I find I'm not getting the urge to snack and still lose weight.

I do 4 gym sessions a week and 3 fitness classes (plus yoga).

Right, everyone else on here is telling you their magic weight loss solution. But I think you need to look at the actual problem is your life. You're dealing with shit in your life by eating. That's your coping mechanism by the sounds of it. You need to find a way of dealing with stress/emotions that doesn't involve eating them. Until you do that, nothing will work. Get yourself some therapy before you do anything else.

I'm similar to you. Been on SW for so long and always gaining and losing the same amount.
I have lots to lose.
Calorie deficit really is the only way. Have a look at Nutracheck. Its an App that you get a free 7 day trial for and it's brilliant.
Infact it's costing £23.99 for the whole year at the moment.
I've lost 9lb in the last 4 weeks.

With Sw I would lose big amounts but gain big amounts also. This way I'm eating whatever I like and it's working.

Goodluck!

I've been overweight for years and knew so much about dieting but couldn't be bothered. Stress eater and comfort eater! Weight crept up, loving family meant I didn't have pressure to lose it... but I wasn't happy. I tried Noom (really regretted it immediately i signed up and thought of cancelling and then just thought I'd try it) and for me it's worked. I've lost over five stone which feels miraculous. More than that it has stayed off and I feel as though for the first time ever I actually understand my body. I have more still to lose! But I now know how, and it's come off sensibly so it's sustainable. It's not Noom itself, but the combination of eating a lot of' green' foods, weighing every day, realising weight goes up and down (and plateaus!!!) and making connections between emotional state, sleep, drinking water etc etc. Logging every meal makes a difference even if you don't plan to change what you eat. I really never recommend stuff but I really would say this has worked for me. Like I said you don't have to sign up, but can do it yourself--I just never managed it. Perhaps start with meal logging and daily weigh in just to get to know your body's mood!

Have you had a look on the Saxenda thread OP? I don't take it myself but many people on there have lost lots of weight on it - it seems to give people a good kickstart (it's an appetite suppressant). With your bmi I think you'd be a good candidate for it.
I always think to loose weight successfully you need the right mindset first- it's like giving up alcohol etc. You have to really want it and tell yourself you can do it. Try to stop being so down on yourself. Do you read the slimming world magazines or follow anyone doing SW on Instagram? I find it really motivating and inspirational - there are loads of people who've lost 10 stone+!
Sorry if that's unhelpful though!
