How is it possible to lose weigh on SW

I've recently been calorie counting and have managed to lose 9lb in 4 weeks but I hate the weighing of food items so I thought that SW may be good for me. I struggle to understand how so many people lose weight on this plan as the daily calorie "allowance" often appears to be high with all the pasta and potatoes! Can someone please explain x

But you can snack on cheese and crackers etc. Just synnyhem if they're not part of the A/B allowance.

You get 2 As now anywhere so it's likely you can have the cheese for 'free' anyway.

@00100001 thank you for your advice too ( I couldnt find your @ before) ☺️ yes personally for me I it's a physiological thing. I feel restricted when I have to think too much about putting foods into hxa hxb and syns.

Everyday for me is different. One day I may feel like lots of fresh food, fruit and veg whilst on other days I just want to eat pizza crisps and sandwiches. In my mind with cc I can have exactly what I feel like on that day as I as long as I count the calorie amount... no over thinking - so I don't feel restricted. It also suits me as I can socialise easier and will be more likely to enjoy evenings out..a glass of wine 170 cals etc
It comes down to your lifestyle and what fits in x

@DeltaAlphaDelta thanks, I agree you can use HX's but can you eat more cheese if you want without sacrificing your syns or the rest of your diet? It's true we have to sacrifice if we want to lose weight but if I can go about my day without thinking too much about food prep I'm winning lol ! Oh and another thing I've noticed, I feel no guilt on cc if I have a kfc or other takeaway as it all fits in x

There's no reason why you can't have a day if pizza crisps and sandwiches. I did SW, once I got the idea,I used to just have weekly sins of 105(?) And if I used 60 on one day if pizza and chips and crisps and cake, I just adjusted my allowances for the rest of the week.

SW is essentially a cc diet, but assumes you are having lots of low cal foods to fill you up.

But because people are idiots, they had to introduce syns for things like yoghurts and raise Ayn values for things like mug shots. Because people thought it sensible to eat 2+ Muller lights and 2+mugshots every day. Because they're "free", completely ignoring the speed rule! (And the listen to your appetite rule!)

No-one is going to lose weight chowing down an extra 600+ calories in snacks every day instead if maybe choosing an apple for mid morning and a yoghurt for Afternoon

Lost 3.5st in 9m.

@00100001 I agree, people do need to use their common sense but many people actually need to learn about food first - which many people say that SW fails on? Personally I can’t be doing too much faffing about with food. I have a busy job and three children. I also need to be able to eat on the go. Others may find SW perfectly seamless to follow based on their current lifestyle and it obviously works. It’s what works best for you and fits in well with your lifestyle as this will be the most sustainable long term.

You can use hexa for cheese but its not a massive amount. 30gm of normal cheddar IIRC (i usually have low fat triangles or low fat cheddar).

Update: Started back calorie counting on Tuesday 3lb loss so far. That's 11lb total by counting calories! I think that I have made the right choice for me and my lifestyle. Good luck all x
