About SW still charging membership fees at this time (albeit half) when we can't go to groups or get weighed? I understand they have introduced the virtual sessions but it seems like very few people are getting involved with them. We've been told if we don't pay 2.50 a week we are no longer members, will have our apps taken off us and will have to rejoin as new members when this is all over.

I think this is a shitty move of slimming world and so do a lot of people in my group. Our rep is typical slimming world and defends all of their actions wholeheartedly (I've had three different reps, they're all the same - if you cut them open they would bleed slimming world) but a lot of people seem very disappointed.

If you are a member what do you think? Will you be continuing to pay even if you don't go to groups? The actual cheek of charging people to weigh themselves at home seems crazy....!

I really don't understand your problem, they are charging half price for you to stay a member and use their diet plan with access to all the usual online support plus a zoom meeting with your leader or you freeze your membership and restart at no additional cost when normal service resumes.

I felt the same as you at first but having access to the app IMO is worth the £2.50 a week. I don't 'attend' the virtual meetings. My consultant would be screwed without this, and whilst I know she will be making a lot less than before I'm glad I can support her.

£3.75 a week from June according to a vid my consultant just posted to FB. Shock I bought a new 12 week countdown just before lockdown too Sad
The zoom thing isn’t working for me, we’ve had an average of 6 people each week and some of them can’t get their mikes to work so they completely miss out on the interactive element.

I’m going to dip out I think, depending on what happens with my countdown and try to fly solo

JaceLancs · 23/05/2020 09:52

I don’t do the zoom so just pay to log my weight and use the app
Not happy to pay £3.75 for that I thought £2.50 was bad enough

Perhaps try the free nhs WeightLoss app? Track your calories on MFP then have your own weekly weigh in?
