Weight is going back on - where do I go from here?

I'm gutted. Despite staying on plan, and rarely going over syns, the weight has started to creep back on. I had lost 2.5 stone and was only a pound away from target, now I'm a stone away from target. Started on HRT recently and that seems to have made it worse. Anyone else?

Agree with PPs, that seems a lot of carb/sugar.
Swap the 0% Greek yogurt to the full fat, it's more filling.
I low'ished carbs to lose 3 1/2 stone, started to creep up when I got lazy about exercise and food prep, I've just lost the 1/2 stone I'd put on very quickly by reducing carbs and only eating twice a day in a 16:8 window.
If I eat chocolate I become a raging maniac crashing around in the kitchen looking for a sugar fix Grin

Truthfully OP ditch SW. your body has no clue how many "syns " a food is, only how much energy it provides. You track that in the calories and macros - carb, protein, fat etc... six months "ON" slimming world I lost 1lb! On 1st January switched to MyFitnessPal and calorie counted, currently 25lbs down. It's not working for you so time to switch

If you’re putting weight on you’re eating too many calories. Slimming world makes me so cross.

I'm doing SW as well currently. It does look like you're eating 'a lot' but are your portions actually big enough to satisfy you? I eat three large meals a day, but generally don't snack between them.

I'd swap your breakfast for a start. I have some variation of bacon and eggs every morning. Cooked breakfast, omlette, sandwich with heb etc.

For lunch add some carbs to your salads. Instead of just chicken, add cous cous, pasta, potatoes etc. My lunch is usually reheated left overs or a salad with meat and pasta/noodles/cous cous. Sometimes even one of the ready meals.

Are you always having a third speed food for salads and meals etc? I do have large meals but my plate is usually half veg. I use my syns on sauces and a chocolate bar in the evenings when the kids have gone to bed.

I don't think you need to start calorie counting yet, especially not if you're still hungry all the time. I just think you need to make some smarter swaps so you're fuller for longer after meals. Eating more at meals means you should cut down on snacky things that don't fill you up but do take up calories.

How about throwing a couple fasting days into the mix. So a 5:2/SW mix. Fasting helps to regulate your insulin levels and has some other health benefits. So this might help you manage your HRT. Rather than counting calories as you do on traditional 5:2 I would do one SW meal on your fasting day. This gives you a good long fast without any food which gives you the maximum fasting benefits rather than eating small amounts throughout the day. If you haven't read up on fasting at all look it up and see what you think. 5:2 fasting is very safe and combining it with SW is fine, many people do a similar thing where they count calories on the non fasting days so don't worry about the safety of doing this. Fasting can be hard at first but many people find after a few weeks they get used to it and find it quite easy.

Step away from the SW cult and go low carb high fat! It will change your life!

GoFiguire · 08/03/2020 08:27

I don’t think that eating chocolate every day is helping either.

wowfudge · 08/03/2020 08:34

I suspect the chocolate/sugar content is what is making you feel hungry as you are eating what looks to be a lot of food. Your food diary gives little indication as to portion size. Also, as you have lost a significant amount of weight your calorific needs have reduced so you do need to eat fewer calories in order to lose more.

Your syns aren't correctly added up each day either. I'd try to cut down on all that fruit, swap for veggies where you can. Try limiting syns to 5 a day for a while if you want to stick at SW.

Are you eating any HEA and HEB?
