Fed up...

I've been following Slimming World for a few weeks and have lost a stone. Up until now I've been really motivated and enjoyed everything I've eaten. Today, though, I am just feeling fed up and rubbish and really craving all the food I shouldn't have. I still have about 3 stone to go so I definitely don't want to give up.

So I guess I'm wondering has anyone else been in this position? How do you motivate yourself to keep going and not just go back to your old ways?

Four weeks you say? Can it be hormones? I struggle monthly every month less so since my hysterectomy but it made such a difference to my will power and my hunger levels. I found carbs helped.

Yeah, I do think it might be hormones. I think extra carbs will maybe help. I've been trying to space out my syns as well to see if that helps. I just really want to stay motivated but I can feel my willpower slipping away this week.

Can you give yourself a great day? When you know? I track my hormones on the ‘clue’ app and it’s really helped me understand my moods and also my body. Genuinely now get why I’m Suddenly craving carbs etc!

I’d have a cheat day. Some people have a cheat meal after weighing in so they have all week to pull back. Fair play OP for sticking to it for weeks. I can’t last 2 days lol

The thing is every single dieter goes through this op. That's why people fall off the wagon constantly.

Diets by their nature are restrictive, after you've done them for a period, be it a day, a month, or a year, people just want to go back to their old ways and enjoy the things they used to. It just seems a bit shit to have to continue.

A stone is on one hand a lot of weight, on the other hardly any and can be regained in a couple of weeks if you proper let yourself go.

For me what works is the thought of undoing all the hard work. Of failing. If you think of the summer time, do you want to be there another couple of stone down, maybe even at your target weight, or looking back and thinking Youre the same size or bigger as you were when you started.

Can you visualise what made you start the diet? What was it, how you would look? The clothes you could wear? How comfy you'd be in the heat? Healthy benefits?

For me it's pure vanity, I've been overweight a few times in my life, and I hate that sweaty trying on of stuff, wondering what makes me look less fat, I love being able to put anything I want on and thinking I look ok.

I do keto and the gym, we all have different things that work for us, but whenever I think of laying on the sofa with a tub of Ben and Jerry's, I think about going back to being uncomfortable, not liking my appearance, and that's what gets me motivated.

Thanks for the replies. I am tempted to have a cheat meal - but I worry that then I'll properly fall off and stay off the wagon!

@Bluntness100 that makes sense. I have a goal in mind and would love to get there for the summer so I think I just need to keep thinking of that and hope that helps! I haven't found the past couple of days as bad but the weekends are always a danger zone so just need to keep my goal in mind I think.
