Could somebody please look at today's food and tell me if I'm on track?

This isn't my first time on Slimming World but it was a little while ago and I was just wondering if someone could check if my meal plan for today is on the right track? Smile

Breakfast: 3 egg omelette with splash of semi skimmed milk, reduced fat cheese, onions, mushrooms and peppers.

Snack: 1 alpen light bar

Snack 2: skimmed iced latte from Costa and another alpen light bar

Lunch: chicken salad (no skin on the chicken) with homemade dressing (dressing was fat free natural yogurt with a dollop of mint sauce-1 syn?), 2 boiled eggs and slice of wholemeal bread

Dinner: the plan is to have a pork chop (fat cut off) with sweet potato and carrot mash (not planning on adding butter or anything) and broccoli.

I'm exclusively breastfeeding my 4mo so from what I understand I need to have 6 healthy extras. I've counted:

250ml for omelette, any coffees throughout day for a HEA

Skimmed milk in the latte I've counted as HEA

Cheese in omelette HEA

Slice of bread HEA

2 alpen bars HEA

So I have one more healthy extra which might be porridge if I have any left over milk and feel hungry, I'm struggling to think what to have with so many healthy extras!

I'm not able to go to a class at the moment due to cost and childcare so was wanting to see if I could get to grips with it myself?

Sorry this is so long, thanks so much if you can help Smile

That looks fine! I'm so jealous of all the healthy extras you get lol!

I would maybe add a bit of carbs? Could be some rice, couscous etc.

Your alpen light bars are hexb
The bread depends on if it's wholemeal/how big a slice.
Cheese again depends on how much would be hexa and syns

Difficult to say without measuring

Thoughout pregnancy and breastfeeding, I know you can have double As and Bs, but personally I found if I was eating more Bs then I wouldn't loose as much. Make sure you're eating plenty of speed food and measuring all Bs and As :)

Good luck with you're journey

That seems like quite a lot and lots of what I consider 'diet junk food' such as low fat bars and low fat cheese. Where are all the fruit and veg? Five eggs in one day seems quite excessive too.

Fattymcfaterson · 25/06/2018 20:11

Wheres the fruit and veg?

Chicken SALAD
Sweet potato and carrot mash

Sounds fine to me

cardeyscat · 25/06/2018 20:13

Five eggs 😱

oooompa · 25/06/2018 21:09

@AwkwardHeliotrope I know the diet bars aren't great, but I'm looking at making small changes. I would binge on huge bars of chocolate and family size bars of Haribo and other sweets so I'm hoping the alpen bars are a bit of an improvement. Plus I can use them as a HEX B and I've been struggling to figure out what to use.

Everything has been measured and the slice of bread was 44g, I'm sure the list I saw online said you could count any slice of whole meal bread as a HEXB as long as it weighed less than 60g? I could be completely wrong though, the downside of not joining an actual class and having the correct books!

I know it's a lot of eggs as well, when I was low carbing I also over did the eggs. I just find them more filling that porridge and with feeding what feels like all day, I'm starving Blush

I thought the day had a fair amount of vegetables?

Onions, peppers and mushrooms in the omelette.

Big salad as part of the chicken salad.

Dinner I had some broccoli and Brussels sprouts along with the carrots in the sweet potato mash and a small bowl of strawberries for pudding?

Thanks so much for the feedback, I will take it all on board and try and cut down on the eggs Blush

@user1466621799 that's really interesting, I'm presuming it's because HEXB are more carb based maybe? I've read on the boards that it's better to use most of the extra healthy extras on HEX A for the calcium, I'm struggling on ideas on what to have, probably some cream cheese on a jacket potato would be a good option.

Is it possible to have natural or Greek yogurt as a HEX A? I can't remember seeing it on the list but I do quite like natural yogurt for pudding with fruit.

@oooompa no you can't use yogurt as your hexA. Fat free yogurt is Syn Free

oooompa · 25/06/2018 22:29

Thanks @MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup Smile
