Why do you have to syn cooked fruit?

I don't understand why fruit is free if you eat it raw but if I cooked down apple into puree even if not using sweetener it would have to be syned. I like the mushed apple in porridge. Does anyone know why this is?

Because when you cook it you break down the structure and release all the sugars so it takes less time and effort to eat (well that's what I would think anyway)

I don't syn it if I cook it or if I am mashing/blitzing it if it works out to a normal portion. E.g. 1 grated apple in some baked oats when I would have eaten 1 apple anyway is fine. Drinking a smoothie that has 10 bananas and a boatload of strawberries would need syning. That's not the plan but its working for me so far.

When you cook, puree or juice fruit, it makes it very easy to over-consume and is a very effective way of adding a lot of extra energy (calories) in a non-bulky and non-filling way, which doesn’t satisfy your appetite in the same way as eating fresh whole/sliced fruit. For this reason, fruit that isn't in it's natural form does have a Syn value.
Consider eating an orange. Peeling, breaking up the segments and eating just one orange can be a lengthy process. Now think about the juice that orange would produce – it contains a similar number of calories, yet it’s gone in a gulp – in fact it takes 8 oranges to make a small glass of orange juice and it’s not filling in the slightest! It’s all about getting the most (optimum) satisfaction from your foods with Food Optimising.
You can find the Syn value for fruit in Syns Online, just search the name of the fruit you need and it will show
So guess if you just eat the equivalent of 1 apple cooked down or grated this is ok.

If you have it as part of a substantial breakfast as per my example its not going to have a knock on effect is it.
