I don’t like the idea of the clubs but that might cos I’ve never tried them.
I really need to lose about 10 kilo. But I am worried that once I reach my goal and stop going/adhering to the model I will gain weight again.

I stopped and have mainly stayed at my happy weight. Occasional ups and downs after eating too much junk during holidays and stressful times but it's a sound plan based on eating loads of veg.

You shouldn't 'stop'. It educates you about food and is a healthy way of eating that you can do long term. If you go back to how you are before then you'll obviously put weight back on, it's that simple.

I lost a lot of weight in 2005 and kept it off until I fell ill in 2009. You need to look at it as a life style change than a diet. You are looking to make sensible choices while not depriving yourself. My friend lost 10st 6 years ago and has kept it off all that time.

amusedbush · 22/10/2017 13:27

No 'diet' will work long term if you go back to eating how you did before. Eating that way is what made us all gain weight in the first place! Sadly maintaining weight loss means that you can't eat a huge amount more than you did while you were losing it so you need to work to keep the weight off forever.

I was wondering this. Do you just get into the habit of knowing how many syns the common things you eat are and having your healthy extras, or do you still have to keep track of it all the time? I really liked the idea of the NoS diet and did try it, but I just ate too much at the weekends and it was hard for me to go back to healthy eating during the week.

Groovee · 24/10/2017 19:45

You have more healthy extras. It all gets explained at target.

Sunnydaysrock · 24/10/2017 23:28

Rasiedby basically yes thats how it's worked for me. It becomes second nature (have bn doing SW 13 years now). We are good in the week and have sw meals. Then at the weekend we have alcohol, chocolate, takeaways etc. I can them make up for it by being extra good for a few days. If I have a holiday coming up then I'll be good for a few weeks before and then eat exactly what I want on holiday and worry about the weight when I get back. I do exercise every week day and that helps massively. But the SW plan is so adaptable and effective too.
