What has SW changed about you?

I'm just curious really! I know you are probably the same as before, you still eat your treats and have whatever you want but well within limits and I did, too.

I have had many thoughts during my journey and have been more educational about food, especially meat - how it is made, produced, etc. I have decided that I am no longer going to eat processed meats like ham, chicken, bacon, sausages etc! I have converted to Linda McCartney vegetarian sausages and most probably going to try Quorn bacon rashers instead. I don't buy any flavoured yoghurts or HiFi bars as they're literally loaded with sugars and doesn't give me the energy my body desires! I just end up feeling worse. Rather just have some toast as my HexB or bran flakes.

I have considered going vegan, but I don't think I can bring myself to do that just yet. I have tried other milk alternatives but cannot get on with either of them & I love my tea in the mornings so unless I am willing to give it up... that will still be part of my lifestyle change lol!

I've done SW on and off for years (unsuccessfully, but my fault not the diet!)

I'm not sure this is what you mean, but even when I'm not doing it I still only ever use fry light, buy 5% mince and buy muller lights!

The biggest thing for me is I'm actually thinking about food rather than grabbing and go. I actually eat more than I used to as it's all good stuff. I am enjoying cooking more too.

I have contemplated going vegan but so many recipes require egg and tbh I don't have the budget for alternatives. I am intolerant to cows milk so eat halloumi occasionally as A and don't really have milk. If I do oat or coconut is the best ones imo.

It has totally changed my attitude towards junk food. I don't eat it anymore and I don't want to eat it anymore which is probably the biggest change of all for me.

I have a chronic illness. I now have fresh made soups frozen in the freezer for bad days. I used to eat lots of crisps instead of eating properly. I also plan on advance now and it really helps keep me straight and narrow.

Have done SW for 13+ years. We lived on jars of sauce before. Don't think I have used one since starting and realising how bad they are for you, and how easy it is to make your own sauces. For me it has become part of everyday life that I barely think about. You can't 'unlearn' what you find out about different food, and for me, I can't ignore that. However, the weekends (plus fri night, and some times thur!) are a free for all!

I learned that I really don't want to use low fat versions of things, I'd far rather have smaller amounts of butter, full fat mayo, oil than use Frylight, low fat spread etc.

I now use fry light and flora light!

What's wrong with ham and bacon??

I plan my meals in advance. This has resulted in less waste, us spending less money (I do an online food delivery weekly based on my meal plan). We all eat better. DD(4) ate so much processed food and refused to try any veg. I showed her my book and how I got stickers for 'healthy eating' (we call SW 'healthy eating club and don't really talk about weight loss so much as eating healthily!). I started DD on a healthy eating reward chart. She's gone from only eating peas and 'yellow peas' Wink to trying a big variety of fruit and veg. She used to refuse cucumber. I said she could have a sticker if she tried it - she tried it and declared she loved it and now eats loads. She shout up soon afterwards too. I feel guilty that she was learning my bad eating habits - carb heavy, loads of sugary food and too much processed crap - but now we always have fruit and veg to hand and she eats a balanced diet. It's been a radical change for us as a family.
