Slimming world consultant

Hi I'm looking to become a slimming world consultant, I'm just wondering does any body know exactly how much you have to pay out? Is it al in one go it can you pay it back as you earn? Also do you have to pass a credit check as I know I won't ☹️X

I think last time I looked it was about a thousand pounds. Which isn't bad buying your own business but a lot when you think about the fact you're basically paying to work for them

Our group is looking for one. From what I hear you have to buy a lot of stuff from them to start up. No idea what the initial outlay is.

My consultant is fairly new and I think it cost her around £1000 plus incidental expenses such as stationery, etc.

This thread on another forum is old so the financial info won't be up to date but if you can find the time to wade through it then it will give you a good idea of what you will be getting into.

What about hiring halls etc for meetings ? All up front I guess

It was £1500 when I went to find out about it a couple of years ago, and yep all at once, that doesn't include travel and hotels for the training and there is some sort of credit check.

As far as I know that depends on the place you're hiring...

It'll cost you a couple of grand all in. The training is fantastic but expect it to take over your life and not be very rewarding financially until you've really got going.
It's incredibly rewarding seeing 'your' members lose weight I love it. However It's a business and its your business expect it to take eighteen months to two years for you to get the work/financial reward balance just like any other start-up. I earn £18,000 a year working two days a week.

It's quite a negative management model so be prepared to take a lot of criticism and be very open minded you have to do everything the company way but it's set up so everything, absolutely everything is geared to weight loss.

Just wanted to ask if anyone knows the answer to my question! If you are a Slimming World Rep are there any restrictions on your other employment? I know there are sometimes clauses in the contracts you have to sign. For example, could you be a Slimming World Consultant and also a Juice Plus rep? Or be a SW consultant and run a hypnotherapy weight loss group? Thanks in advance for any answers!

Just being nosy, is income simply "bums on seats" plus shop commission based, or are there extra bonuses for reaching certain milestones or targets?
