Both dh and I are signing up next week (missed the only one we can both make this week). We're both rather overweight - I need to lose a whole person (10st) and he needs to lose about 4.

I do most of the cooking so I've been looking at the recipes and looks like we could eat relatively well. I'm also trying to give up drinking so I'm hoping SW will encourage me in that too!

I'm in a hotel with work for the next 5 days, no idea how I'm going to stay on track I guess salads, grilled veggies no oil and boiled eggs? I'm trying to think of foods they won't have doctored with crap loads of oil.

Zazu drink the wine, if you drive you can have a very small glass so you know you can't over do it.

I joined 18 weeks ago and have lost 1st 11lbs so far. Some things that help me massively:
*food diary - an honest one. I write my own rather than the ones from group with times and highlight all my speed/free (pretty colours make me happy!)
*take photos of amazing looking meals/low syn snacks. Good to look through when feeling deprived.
*have lots of easy to pick foods ready to eat - chopped veg, homemade dips, falafel, egg muffins, low sugar jelly, meringues, full up fruit bowl, popcorn kernals.
*pinch of nom has amazing recipes - I love the halloumi and couscous burger.
*meal plan - I have a set of meals for the week and stick to it allowing for busy days where it's a quick dinner like stir fry or pasta.
*make salads interesting - lots of colour.
*freeze portions of meals for easy ready meals. I always have a mushy pea curry and a bolognase in there for quick meal.
*have a bit of what you fancy and don't feel guilty - I occasionally have a cider (14 syns) but make sure I don't use syns during the day. Or if I feel I might go over set a limit say 25 syns and then stick to it so Im in control.

Hope this helps! I weigh in tomorrow so will let u know how I get on :)

That's brilliant Nocuts congratulations! I'm still getting to grips with speed free items, I've only just rejoined and it's changed somewhat from the last time. I hope I have good results like yours.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 10/09/2017 10:21

I put on 1/2lb this week 😑 I know it's probably because it's the time of the month but still not happy about it. Got to weigh on weds next week as I can't make the Saturday morning and forgot to book as holiday so going to hopefully loose the 1/2lb by then :)

susan I still get muddled what I can have - I did make a list for the fridge of free/speed foods so I didn't always need to look through the book and always use the app when shopping :)

I joined Thursday and was so embarrassed by how heavy I've got, ill health and lots of meds hasn't helped, can I join you all, at least 6 stone to lose

caremummy · 10/09/2017 21:14

Right, freshers is done so I'm in. Actually been eating fine due to just not buying the crap due to being too poor. Health wise I've been not good though (combination of menstruation for 16 out of last 19 weeks and freshers flu ofc). Going to the GP asap.

LazySusan11 · 10/09/2017 21:36

I've signed up online, got my lists..I'm also combining it with a hypnosis app I listen to at night..yesterday I ate 2 small finger sandwiches (synned already) a piece of fruit and some grilled veggies. Today I made the huge of mistake of eating 3 beautiful fat ripe sweet figs. Seems I am now on a bit of a um detox Confused

Anyway this is miles better than the cravings and rubbish I was eating. 16lbs off you f*ck!

delftblue · 12/09/2017 10:40

Deedee in my group last week there was a woman who'd lost 7 stone and 3 who'd lost 4. They all looked amazing. You can do it. You'll be feeling great by Christmas.
