Does anyone else find group really cringe? I don't understand why people are clapping a 2lb gain, am I being a bit dense?

I really need this to work for my self esteem but I just seem to be able to eat so much!!

Well if it's a bit cringe, but look on it as your therapy. I find going to group does make me more determined, and also you can discuss the diet with others and don't then have to bore friends and family with all the ins and outs of it!

I find it's taken me a lot to have how you have done read out. We usually clap how much you have lost so far.

The last few weeks the consultant has been taking us back to basics and it's helping everyone including those who have just started. I've made some great friends and it's become a social thing for me now.

OuchLegoHurts · 11/08/2017 14:54

We would never clap for a gain! Only of someone has gotten an award or reached target or lost a huge amount...

Gorgosparta · 12/08/2017 08:25

We would never know if someone gained or how much.

If you lost weight, The consultant usually says 'gorgo lost 1lb this week, thats 2 stone in total'

If you stayed the same or put on it would be 'gorgo has lost 1stone 13lbs in total'

Unless the person shared thier gain, it could be that they stayed the same.

Also putring some weight on, but being ok with is a celebration for some people. Because before they might get really down about it.

I am not a fan of groups, for different reasons. But for some people it not just about the scales.

anxiouspotato · 12/08/2017 08:49

@Gorgosparta but they DID reveal the gain, that's what I'm saying. That's why I was confused as I thought they didn't do that.

Anyway been doing it 2 days and seems to be going ok so far....

If you don't want your gain read out speak to the consultant. Mine just says Groovee had a gain. She's had a fabulous holiday and is back on plan!

Gorgosparta · 12/08/2017 10:34

Unless that person has told her that its ok to do that. I dont think thats right.

Groovee · 12/08/2017 11:11

I don't mind people know I got a gain or maintain. It stops people thinking I'm perfect as I am worried that I lost it too fast!
