I've really sacrificed and followed it to the book - and kept syns to an absolute minimum.

The person I go with has lost six times as much - and had a blow out weekend.

I'm gutted. What the bastard point?

Hi I’m new to slimming world my first week and only lost a pound so very disheartened. Followed the book used the app eaten lots of free foods and Super FOODS , loads bit felt hungry so that why I’m disappointed. The only thing I can think of I d not eaten up to my 5 sins some days x

Hi @Tjtrinity are you going to group? If so should give in your weekly tracker and the consultant will take a look at it. Sometimes it takes till week 2 to get a good loss. Don't give up!

Badger1970 · 12/06/2022 18:18

I didn't lose weight with SW, in fact I found I was eating way too much processed crap. I'd be really careful of any processed foods especially ones with sweetener and their chemical warfare bars masquerading as food.

What's your starting weight though? Someone heavier will lose quicker

Hi Op, just came on to say don't be too disheartened, it's still a loss and a step in the right direction. I started recently too and in my first week didn't lose as much I have previously and was pretty annoyed. But I keep telling myself I'm here for the long game. I don't always eat enough speed and I do think that does really help and great for the body anyway. I also have a Cadbury's high lights hot choc and freddo every night to keep me motivated. I wait till the kids are in bed and savour it 😂.

MaletsMalet wowza! That's how much I need to lose and to hear you did that in a year is so impressive. Was it just S/W alone? This time I'm doing it for my health and I'm hoping that's what keeps me on the straight and narrow. Also I need to realise one bad night/day etc shouldn't dictate the rest of the week. You must feel incredible!

We'll you didn't "follow it to the book" if you went hungry.

However, keep on keeping on and fill your plate with at least ⅓ speed. (And check the S symbol)

Also, don't have massive portions, although SW says "eat as much as you like" they ALSO say eat to your appetite, and stop when you're full. It's. It meant to be an all you can eat buffet where you're trying to eat as much as you can.

Hopefully this OP reached her goal weight - this thread is from 2015! 🙄

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/06/2022 13:02

As others said you shouldn’t be hungry

maybe write down what you eat for a few days

I will add you to a food diary thread as well as I find it helps seeing what others eat

buf yes use your syns

Hiya -

I just wanted to say that I was very slow losing anything on SW but I did lose almost 8 stone doing it (alongside a LOT of exercise)

I'd say have your full 15 syns each day - it is part of the plan and in my experience, it only works as a whole plan. I was never hungry there was always plenty to eat.

I'd also say going to group was a must for me.

I put most my weight back over lockdown and now two pregnancies but I will be back next year once I've had my 2nd baba. It's easy to follow but for me too easy to fall off it seems! I did it for 3 years - I loved my group.

Hope you are finding it ok now - I'm sure your consultant will be happy to help and try not to focus on the people with huge losses - it's bloody infuriating when you lose slowly!

workiskillingme · 24/08/2022 19:32

Same here first week one pound bloody loss! It's so hard for me to try and do any sort of healthy eating plan so to lose naff all is so demotivating especially when everyone else who joined last week lost at least 4 pounds 😭

Duchess379 · 29/08/2022 22:54

Hang in there! A few years ago, on my first journey with SW, I gained 1/2 lb on my first week. I think I then lost it the week after, then lost 3 lb! I eventually lost 2 stones. Don't give up, stick with it 👍🏻
