Hi all,
What's your go to sw friendly meals.
I'm lacking inspiration in what to eat.
Just had savoury rice & curry. It really wasn't it. Will get bored and fall of the wagonGrin

My staple meals are spag Bol, chilli and rice, asda BBQ chicken fillets usually with carrots and sw chips. Roast chicken and veg. Chicken with some kind of sachet of sauce, the blue dragon ones are quite low syns, with stir fry, hairy bikers chicken korma. Can't think what else!

lizandlulu · 10/03/2015 21:30

Steak, mushrooms, onions and sw chips.
Birds eye sweet chilli salmon and veg

annielostit · 11/03/2015 07:51

I will plan my meals now you've inspired me.

I am not a very good cook and anything with more than 4-5 ingredients scares me! I tend to stick to the basics

Have you tried the ready meals? And low syn Chinese take out meals from asda.

Are you on the local Facebook page? That always inspires me.

annielostit · 11/03/2015 08:45

We must be opposites, I was a chef in a former life.
I did try the sausage but not totally sold, too quornish in texture for my liking. Maybe they'd be OK in gravy? The meals have been hard to come by at our Iceland stores.
I don't do facebook I think ours is headed by the pay lady at group.

I would be lost without the face book page, you can ask for ideas, ask for syn values if you can find out otherwise, it's just invaluable for help. It's partly why I have been a member for so long and am sticking with it.

I haven't tried the sausages as I don't like sausage, but have tried the beef in red onion gravy one which was good for a quick meal, and the tikka masala which was too spicy for me.

Marks and spencer do a lovely ham hock with apple and maple glaze which is 3.5 syns each. Really worth it.

The SW chilli con carne is amazing we have it at home at least once a week

Also we love the SW curry.

My staple is sebass and kale or spinich

Roasted chicken thighs, marinated in teryaki sause with roasted mushrooms and peppers with kale (maybe quinoa)

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with salad

annielostit · 11/03/2015 18:09

Mmm, chicken in teryaki sounds good.
I like chilli but dh not fussed so tend not to do. He gets what I'm doing. Sea bass is good too. I usually pick salmon with a spoon of chilli baked in foil with broccoli for a fish day.
Don't you think it becomes so monotonous trying to think of dinner.

Pulled pork is lush, but I usually use shop bought bbq sauce and syn it as I don't like the SW one. I'm going to try pulled chicken this week too.

I made the fanta chicken tonight, which is sort of sweet and sour. That was nice and a bit different.

The campfire stew is nice. I was rather suprised as is really just made it as I thought the DC would like it, but it's tasty. I do add extra spices, veg and Worcester sauce though.

I also do a Cobb salad, which is cos lettuce topped with a HEa of low fat cheddar, chunks of cold ham, cooked chicken, diced tomatoes, diced red onion, diced boiled eggs and beetroot. Then drizzle over some low fat cesar or ranch dressing. It's really filling.

My friend does Cajun spiced rice I keep meaning to try. Chicken, peppers and onions stir fried with some cooked rice and some fajita seasoning added. The fajita seasoning has to be synned though, so in thinking of trying Cajun spices, as that's free.

The butternut squash risotto is lovely too, I always add bacon and a HE of Parmesan per person.

Midori1999 · 13/03/2015 00:44

This is the salad.
