I've been on SW nearly two weeks, doing ok and writing down everything on my diary sheets etc.. I seem to be struggling with the Healthy A foods in that most days I don't have any or have to consciously go for a slice of cheese etc to get it in. How important are the. HexAs really though?
I drink my coffee black, don't drink tea and while I like cheese I only tend to eat it after a posh meal... Like, I'd never have a cheese sandwich...
Anyway, I am having muller lights every day - isn't that enough calcium?
Any alternative suggestions to complete my Hex A requirement?

It was discovered on the plan a few years back that calcium helped with weight loss, hence now the healthy extra A.

according to the nutrition value of a muller light it is only 21% of the Rec. Daily allowance, so is probably not enough Smile

Women also need to be especially careful with lack of calcium due to osteoporosis in later life

Can you not just glug down a glass full or whatever the quantity is (it's not much) with breakfast? I was going to suggest a smoothie, but then you would need to syn your fruit.

How about a couple of babybels as snacks or add cheese to pasta bakes or jacket potatoes. I don't use milk at all so sympathise but HEa def part of the full plan

You can get calcium from dietary sources other than dairy. Green vegetables, especially leafy greens, soya or tofu, fish, especially those that include the bones such as sardines, nuts...

Slimming world do suggest you have your He's where possible, for health reasons and it is true that they added an extra HEa a few years ago as calcium was shown to aid weight loss, but they have ditched that now and the plan only includes one HEa.

As long as you're getting enough calcium in your diet, I wouldn't worry too much personally.

Humans are the only mammals who drink the milk from other mammals. There's plenty of calcium in other foods without the need to drink milk.

Meant to say:
I very rarely use my HeA.
