Does SW work if you haven't got much to lose?

I've lost almost three stone in the past two years through a combination of slim fast, calorie counting & 5:2. The reasons for changes in the diets is that I get bored & begin to "cheat" on each one. I still have another 7 - 10lbs to lose but am already a healthy BMI (just). A couple of friends have started SW in the past couple of months and are doing really well so I'm tempted to try it. But they are both obese, one morbidly so. Does it work as well - or at all - if you are a healthy BMI? When they explain how it works and on the odd occasions when I have seen what they are eating, I can't understand how it works as they just eat so much and, from what they say, will always be allowed to eat this much even once they have lost substantial amounts of weight.
Thanks

I've lost just over 3 stones with SW and have 8lbs to target

It does still work for me at 100% on plan, but any 'little cheats' really slow down my losses now where they didn't at the start.

I think it does but if it wasn't I'd maybe reduce ny sins. See if that helped.

Someone had about 5lb to lose at my old group and it she only had to come twice. I think she wanted to lose a bit more but SW won't let you go under your healthy weight for your height I don't think.

I'd have to lose almost another 3 stone to get below my healthy weight so no danger of that happening!
I think you have both confirmed what I knew. There's no magic solution to weight loss other thab eat less, move more. At this stage, every 100 calories counts so the odd biscuit or cake is just going to mean I maintain rather than lose. Time to re-engage the willpower I think!

I have about a stone that I'd like to shed, so started SW last week. At my first weigh-in, I lost 4lb! I'm hoping for about 3lb this week too. Because I don't have too much to lose, I'm being really strict on syns - only having about 3 to 6 a day (mainly used on marg, sauces etc). So far, it has worked for me!

I love Slimming World... But I am morbidly obese so that's not much use.

A few ladies at my group are at target having lost 11-14lbs so not big losses but it did work at a rate of 3-8 weeks for them.

To be honest its just government guidelines with a bit more structure for those who need.

I think it is harder because SW is basically about educating people about what healthy food is so if your diet isn;t that bad to begin with, the changes aren't that radical. I'm finding it very slow going because the meals are really no different to what I always did, (from scratch, little fat etc), it just reminds me to keep track of all the smaller bits and pieces that add up. Is annoying when people lose 6-7 lbs in wk1 and I've lost 5 over a 6 weeks but I do think its about the contrast between your pre sw diet and what you do on it.
