Feel a bit demoralised as sticking to the plan and exercising 4/5 times a week. Any tips?

1 lb a week is great!! It's much better to lose weight at this sort of rate (more likely to keep it off).

Also bear in mind that your exercising may be building muscle mass, which is heavier than fat. Have you measured your body (e.g. waist, hips etc)? You may find that you are toning up and reducing in size without actually reducing in weight.

Remember we are all different, and we all lose at different rates.

1lb a week is still nearly 4 stone a year!so look at it that way if it helps!

Better a steady 1lb a week that you manage to keep off than rapid loss that comes back twice as fast. Also you will find with excercising you are building muscle mass which is heavier than fat. Since I started at the gym two years ago I am actually slightly heavier but a dress size smaller.

1-2lbs a week is all you should aim for - long, slow weight loss is much more sustainable.

How much do you have to lose?

Well done excercising 4/5 times a week that's impressive!

Thanks for the posts. I have lost a dress size which feels great (jeans aren't bulging!) but I guess SW puts emphasis on weight so that's what I've been focussing on. I've got about 10lbs to get down to my pre baby weight. Was hoping to shift it a bit quicker as we want to start TTC 2 in a couple of months time and I put a lot on with my first and didn't want to start too over weight with an even bigger struggle the other end!

Should I reduce my syns? I aim for 10 a day but tend to have 15 at weekends (wine).

In my experience the smaller amount of weight you have to lose the slower the loss. I had a session with a personal trainer who measured my weight/bmi/muscle mass etc and we talked about what my goals were. I thought it was to lose half a stone but by the end of the session I realised I wasn't worried about what my weight would be but that I could drop a dress size or two and look toned.

If you carry on with the sensible eating and your current level of exercise I think you will start to see a difference in your body shape and how you feel and ultimately you may not lose the whole10lbs but actually feel happy with your look. Weight isn't alway a great indicator of success in getting fit!
