You know, when you're out of syns or haven't been shopping? I've just eaten a mug shot and once all the noodles had gone I stirred in Smash to eke out the last third of liquid! I've had a jacket potato with mushy peas and a poached egg. I'll also eat cheese triangles on their own if I have an 'a' choice to use up, even though I'm not hungry. This diet works for me but seriously, I would never eat like this normally Grin

Sweet and sour mugshot on a bed of savoury rice. Was a green day.

JimmyCorkhill · 20/06/2013 18:31

Ha ha, carbs ahoy! I love that you say 'on a bed of'. I have many meals on a bed of Smash.

What's a mugshot? I quite like a bowl of Batchelors savoury rice with cottage cheese Smile

JimmyCorkhill · 21/06/2013 08:50

A mugshot is a bit like a cup a soup but with noodles or pasta in it. Not the yummiest thing but most of them are free so they are a good cupboard staple. My dinner last night was 4 Ryvitas, cheese triangles and tinned sardines in tomato sauce Confused

when I did SW one of my easy filling CBA meals/snacks was sainsbos instant mash, which is nicer than smash IMHO with cottage cheese and a healthy A of grated cheese stirred in.

mrsmitch01 · 24/06/2013 13:29

my husband has a jacket potato with cottage cheese and mushy peas/baked beans!!!!!
ive had the jacket with mushy peas and a fried egg, which is nice, and to be fair the same as having egg, chips and mushy peas, so not that weird really. although i have to agree that i don't think i would eat normally how i eat on the plan.

whoknowswho · 28/06/2013 12:49

Ha!! Its not just me then.... I often have Pasta, baked beans and bacon before going shopping on a Thursday!!!

YourHandInMyHand · 28/06/2013 12:59

This thread caught my attention as I'm considering slimming world. Never done it before but found out there is a class 2 minutes from my house.

Can any of you give me a basic idea of what you eat on SW? When your cupboards aren't bare that is! Grin

whoknowswho · 28/06/2013 13:09

on extra easy plan (EE) you can have Fish, lean meat and chicken, pasta, rice, potato, fresh vegetables and fruit and you can use things like fat free yoghurt and passata to make sauces etc. You also get healthy extras and syns. It is a good plan but you have to be prepared to cook most meals from scratch.

YourHandInMyHand · 28/06/2013 13:51

Thanks for quick reply Smile

Does extra easy mean I don't have to worry about certain coloured days then? It sounds promising. I tend to cook from scratch anyway but need to get back to more healthy eating and a LOT less snacking!

glenthebattleostrich · 28/06/2013 13:59

Nope, extra easy does what it says on the tin!! It really is the easiest plan I've ever done. I have been known to cheat and still loose at least a lb on it per week. I'm .5lb off 1.5 stone now :) It is a really good health eating plan.

Today for lunch I had scan bran (ryvita type cardboard thing) with mackerel in tomato sauce and a salad of grapes, apple and tomato. It was actually delicious.

whoknowswho · 28/06/2013 16:56

I agree glenthebattleostrich, I tried years ago the red and green plan and really couldn't get my head around it but extra easy really is extra easy. I have lost every week since I started and sometimes I really have a bad week (with wine and chocolate creeping in) but still got half a pound off on the scales because I stick to the plan for all my meals and save the syns in case I fall off the wagon!! lol I have lost 12lb so far in 6 weeks.

YourHandInMyHand · 28/06/2013 21:41

Okay sounds fab, will be wobbling to my local meeting on Monday - thanks ladies! Grin

LastTangoInDevonshire · 12/07/2013 22:38

YourHandInMyHand - I, too, am starting SW next Tuesday. I need to lose about 2 1/2 stone. From what I've read there is more food on the diet than I would normally eat in a day - so we will see! I am mainly vegetarian with a bit of chicken thrown in occasionally.

The problem I have is that, due to medical reasons, I am unable to do any exercise. I can walk about 100 yards slowly. My Advisor says that this doesn't matter and that I WILL lose weight!!

Thesebootsweremadeforwalking · 04/09/2013 21:21

Chocolate banana porridge. Only works if you have HEs left, but basically oats, milk, a low syn hot chocolate sachet and a banana chopped up and stirred through. This has saved me eating my way through the biscuit tin several times but there is truly no way it would ever have occurred to me, or appealed, pre-SW!

Had diet coke chicken tonight! Bloody lovely. Grin.

Dontletthemgetyoudown · 12/11/2013 22:01

I tend to stick to the free foods so lots of veg stir fried with rice add paprika or plenty of garlic and herbs so it's tasty. Not full of chemicals from crappy foods like mugshots. Dont get me wrong a good food/work standby but id rather have veggies or fruit and no fat yogurt (dont like muller lights or other free flavoured yogurts)

iklboo · 12/11/2013 22:12

Our SW meal plan thus week:

Chicken & veg casserole
Spag Bol
Gammon, egg & (SW) chips
Chicken stuffed with garlic & herb philly, wrapped in bacon served with baby new potatoes & broccoli
Egg fried rice (with chicken, ham & peas in)
Steak kebabs with cous cous
Beef & barley stew

JimmyCorkhill · 13/11/2013 09:28

iklboo can I come and stay with you? Grin

OP posts:
Darkesteyes · 13/11/2013 23:48

I have a boiled egg in a Mugshot to bulk it up

JimmyCorkhill · 14/11/2013 15:20

Just dropped in the cup? Or mashed up?

iklboo · 14/11/2013 22:54
