Hi My DD1 has been waking up every night for the last month now!
Dosnt take long to settle back but may wake once or twice, usually once...sometimes tearfull and other times screaming mummy, mummy so I've put it down to nightmares..
My friend went to the docters with her daughter & the docter told to cut out cheese and it worked so going to try this for one week!
Anyone else have any ideas, I talked to DD1 about why she is waking and she just says she wants me and I ask her if she is having bad dreams and she always says yes and I ask her and she says 'Dolphines' and I ask are they making you happy and she says yes so I dont know if she understands dreams yet!
Whilst she is in bed ready for bedtime I sometimes say that I've caught all the bad dreams and we blow them away...thats worked a few times...
I know it's just her age and a vivid imagination kicking in but how long will it go on for....every night is wearing me thin!
Anyone have any ideas please comment.

I felt a bit silly doing it but I'd seen it on a tv program!
DS used to suffer nightmares; crying, turning and fighting but he stayed asleep and I would talk to him saying things like "Mummy's here, can you see me? Come to Mummy" and then talk about how a big bus came and we got on it and went safely home.
I only had to do it a few times so it must have worked (or he grew out of it, or the anxiety left him)
Give it a go but also can you think of a reason why she is having them. My ds had just started school.

There isnt any reason she is having them, we are all happy here, She does wake up it's not night time terrors it's night mares...I will have ago though at comforting her and being extra huggable mummy when she wakes!
