Sleeping Toe to Toe

At what age do you stop putting your DC to bed toe to toe? DS is 8 months and is quite the mover rolls around, spins, etc. so toe to toe lasts all of 30 seconds when I put him down. Because of the weather he doesn't have any sheets/blankets and is usually sleeping in just a nappy or a nappy and a vest. The only things in his cot are his two cuddlies and a muslin cloth.

Thanks!

My DS will be 8mo in a couple of days and feet to foot is a thing of the distant past as he pretty much thrashes around like a washing machine in his cot! I just put him low down in the cot whenever I settle him - but mainly as this gives him room to work himself up to the top whilst he does his thrashy routine to settle himself .

If they can move that much they'll be fine I'm sure.

Thanks snuggle. That's what I've been doing, too. But in the last four days or so DS has started rolling onto his tummy in his sleep (a skill only acquired within the last week, though he's been able to roll tummy to back for months) and I guess I've gotten a bit paranoid. But I know he can roll front to back, etc., so I've had to reassure myself he's fine!

I think tis par for the course to get a bit para given the way all the SIDS advice seems to come at you from all angles! (Not meaning that in a bad way - is obviously good that advice has reduced rates etc)

Was a bit the same myself - and was partic concerned after finding DS fast asleep several times, seemingly face down, with his bum in the air! No idea how he was breathing!! However after shifting him onto his back/side several million a few times in the middle of the night only to wake him up and have him promptly return to the bum-in-the-air position I took the path of least resistance

I love the face down, bum in the air sleepy-position! I swore DS used to do that before he was born, too, as I always had a bum or knees sticking out staring at me. Perfectly nice baby bump with something sticking out one side. LOL I've caught my DS doing that now that he can roll that way.
