what do you when your co-sleeper starts to crawl?

dd is just 10 months old and up until now has taken all of her naps in our bed - when she woke she didn't roll off the bed or anything, just let me know she was awake. However, she is currently very close to crawling and twice has woken and crawled straight off the bed. Our bed is a big superking and really quite high. I think with dd1 we were co-sleeping and using a cot so it was easier but this little one has always co-slept from day one and I really feel weird about putting her in a cot but can no longer leave her in her bed so she's kind of napping in my arms which isn't conducive to getting house-work done . Any ideas?

I just put dd further into the middle of the double bed, she didn't really move about that much. I remember being awfully surprised when she crawled round the corner into the living room once though! (in a flat so stairs not an issue)

well, personally i would let her nap on you while you sup tea and watch telly
BUT, if you really don't want to then bed guards? lots of squishy cushions on the floor? bedside cot?

I had mine in a side-car cot, but now he can stand up in the cot we had to move him. So side went up on cot and moved him to otherside of room. I still have to get up and feed him at least twice a night, AND he has become a complete ARSE about going down to sleep at night (combination of big development leap, teeth, a cold, moving the bed, the heat and general bloody mindedness )

So I'm no help at all really

I know with dd1 she spent a few weeks in the cot and by about a year old had learnt how to turn round and reverse off the bed so was in her own double bed from then on. Unfortunately dopey dd is at the crawl off head first stage and no amount of pillows will stop her! I'm reluctant to get the cot out as I know she'll hate it and also it's buried somewhere in the garage . Think I may try padding on the floor to break her fall, have some massive winter weight duvets lurking but do feel a bit bad about letting her fall out of bed. Hopefully she's learn how to get down safely quite soon as I'm not prepared to give up on co-sleeping yet and when we do move on it will be straight into a proper bed. - she has her own double waiting for her!
