DH thinks we should just buy single bed and get a bedguard? What do you think? DD is nearly 2 yrs old.

Is a toddler bed the same size as a cot bed? If so, i'd say go for the single bed as it's really hard to find a decent duvet cover for cot beds.

Yep - normal single and bedguard is fine and will prob save you money in the long run.

We bought DS a toddler bed and in hindsight, I wish we had gone straight for a normal sized bed.

We learnt from this mistake and bought him a normal sized bed for when he stays at Granny's house and with one side up against a wall and a bed guard on the other - he is fine

We got a toddler bed from Ikea and it's been fab.

DS1 is now nearly 5, and ds2 is 2 so we will soon get a single bed for ds1 and ds2 will have the toddler bed. We used a normal single size duvet and tucked it right under the mattress so it didn't go too high up over ds. That meant we could get normal duvet covers - much cheaper and a bigger choice.

We got a toddler bed for DD as there's no room for a single bed in her room. She'll pass it on to her sister so I think we'll get plenty of use out of it.

Also got the grobag duvet sets which cost a fortune but I have found fab at keeping her covers where they should be.

Really depends on whether you have the money and space but I'm sure a single is fine.
