I'm unsure what to do about dd2s sleeping and was wondering if anyone has been in this situation. Briefly, she was a reasonable sleeper up until 18ms (now 3 and 3ms). Then all hell broke loose, much waking for months on end, much faffing in the night to the point were I got sick/run down the consequence being developing an unusual form of psoriasis that took 4ms to clear.

Anyway, we did get through this eventually. And since last Sept she's been much better. Sleeping from 7pm (without messing about) to about 5-5.30 am (very occasionaly 6/6.15) when she gets out of bed and comes into ours, and sometimes dozes but mostly wriggles about, as do I.Then we get up at about 6am 'cos I can't take anymore fidgeting/whinging for juice etc.

My question is, how do I get passed this. Do I send her back to bed, ignore her, put her back to bed etc? Knowing that all of these will provoke rage and upset. But part of me keeps thinking, as the dds share bunk beds, the ideal time to do this is the summer hols, dd1 is at school so needs a peaceful sleep in term time. I also feel dd2 is probably old enough to understand when I mean business.

The bottom line is I've had enough of waking so bloody early EVERYDAY (dh useless/she "won't" go to him in the mornings). But we've come SO far I don't want to bugger it up again. Help...???

Bunny clock and star chart now installed, so continuing reasonably well.

Although dd1 called out today, saying "is it time to get up now Mummy, I heard a bang!" i.e. the bunny waking up. So much for the thing "waking quietly"!!

Congratulations on last night Batey. I have not posted on this before but can sympasthise. My DD is almost 1. From about 7 weeks until I started her on solids at 4 months she was sleeping from 10pm until 6am. Since she started on solids sghe is waking several times in the night. We have a single bed in her room, so if she wakes in the early hours (most mornings) I feed her and then sleep in there so as not to wake DP. She has a nap in the morning and then again about 3pm which usually kast about 1 hour each. She is usually in bed between 8 and 9pm and wakes fr the first time about 1am, if she goes back to sleep quickly go back to bed with DP when she is back in the cot.
I hope that your success of last noght continues.

Now had a week of 6.15's on average, so I'm really chuffed with both of us, I think we may actually be "there". So there is hope,'cos we've been to hell and back many times with all aspects of her sleeping.

Hope things are improving for you Stripeymouse/Skara/Mocha.

Mocha, just a thought, have you tried putting her down for a nap earlier than three pm and then getting her to bed by 7.30. There is definitely a link in my ds's case between late bedtimes and night/early morning waking. You may need to trim the am nap to encourage your dd to sleep at lunchtime-ish.
