This is not normal! Please talk to me about my 10month old DD's sleeping the past two nights

DD, ten months, is my third child - and I've never known this to happen before, nor have I heard of anyone else experiencing it. Can anyone shed any light at all, and tell me if I'm dealing with it wrongly??

DD's bedtime is 7.30pm ish, and generally sleeps fairly well until about 6am. However, Friday eve she went to bed usual bedtime, and slept until 11.15am .

I put this down to a freak occurence, however last night she again went to bed around 7.45pm - and today slept right through without a murmur until 12.20 lunchtime. This is not normal, right?

It's not as if I enjoyed a quiet morning or any such like - I was in and out her room checking that she was breathing, and not knowing whether to wake her. I kept thinking, surely she's about to wake of her own accord. I'm really not sure if I should have left her that long - as I said, I've no previous experience of this. When she did finally waken, she was perfectly happy, smiling and ate her (belated) breakfast. There's no sign of illness or anything amiss at all.

Any advice / reassurance would be really helpful. I rarely see the health visitor anymore - more of an ordeal than it's worth really.

TIA.

how funny! Maybe she just loves her bed!!! Prob just having a mass growth spurt, mention it to hv if it is worrying you or anything else happens that seems unusual!!1

I came on to see if your sleep issue was as bad as mine, 3 year old and 9 month old waking hourly. I see it is not.

I want to be but I am not, as it doesn't sound 'normal'. I am not suggesting that you panic but maybe start another thread with '10 month old sleeping 7.45pm til 12.20 lunchtime- advice please' or whatever, as you may get more advice from people who have experienced similar.

DS1, now nearly 5 used to do this. From being about 6 months old to rounda about 2.5 he would have an epic sleep of about 14 or 15 hours about once a week. This had decreased to once a month by the time he was 2.5. He wouldn't have a nap on those days, would just wake late morning and go through until bedtime, which was about 8pm. He's absolutely fine, now sleeps 7.30 to between 6.30 and 7. I'd never heard of anyone else's child doing this either, but for our DS anyway it doesn't seem to have beena problem. Just wish DS2 could take a leaf out of his book!

sounds wonderful though also a bit terrifying. I would say two days a habit does not make,. see how the next few days go - could just be a humungous growth spurt. If she's waking perfectly happy then fine...
