What could be keeping her awake?

Hi there,

DD1 is 9mo and has been a good sleeper (20:00- 07:00 ish) Usually put her down awake after bedtime routine (dinner/bath/bottle/bed) and she would get herself off to sleep.

This weeek we have been on holiday and the last 2 nights have been difficult. Issues are:

  1. She has a horrible rattling cough that wakes her up
  2. She is drooling ++ and I wonder whether she is also teething
  3. She is obviously in a different environment (however managed to sleep v well the first night we were here).

Yesterday eve she slept on me from 2 am till about 5am. I am convinced she might be uncomfortable from something. But worried that by cuddling to sleep we will encourage that behaviour.

Any ideas? DH is suggesting CC but I am against it- especialy if there' s a reason she is crying!

Suggestions anyone?

Try some Neurofen at bedtime, if she is teething it'll help, it's better than calpol as it's antiinflammatory, better for sore, swollen gums. It sounds like something is definately bothering her and I would put money on it being teeth!

Cheers for that. I have been using Calpol but maybe should be going with Nurofen.

The other thing I forgot to say is that she kind of dropped her late pm bottle (8oz at 0730/ 6oz at 1000/ 6oz at 1500/ dropped 5oz at 17:30/ 6 oz at 1930)

However now eating dinner much better and drinking more ater from her beaker.

Just worried it is all a bit much for a wee pup that' s feeling rotten.

Also thinking maybe she' s been having longer and later pm nap than usually at nursery.

Teething suckc though!!

I am battle-scarred survivor of teething! . Calpol is pants for teething pain!

She's maybe also a bit unsettled still from being away, I bet it all falls back into place soon It's hard work trying to guess what's up with them. I must admit I did resort to CC at one point with ds and I sort of wish I didn't as I think a lot of his sleeping probs were down to teething.
