sleep problems after mmr

Hi there,

Just wondered if anyone out there has experienced recurrent sleep problems after the mmr vaccine.

My 3 year dd, was a great sleeper until she had her mmr, at 13 months, and then was very distressed when we put her down to sleep would regularly wake up and stand up in her cot, in the night, until exhausted (although we regularly tried cc and sleeping next to the cot and checking every 5-10 mins methods) eventually brought her into our bed.

Now she is three she has got better, but still comes in between 2-6am to our bed.

I have had my second dd just immunised 14 days ago. She was a great sleeper until now, she is 19 months old, and is similarly really distressed when we try to put her to bed, and is waking and standing, and crying out in her cot.

I am now feeling very guilty that the mmr vaccine has brought all this on.

I would be grateful for any help or advice, if anyone out there has experienced anything similar.

Our 15 month son had his MMR four weeks ago and two weeks after the jab he displayed exactly the same symptoms - screaming at bed and nap time, standing in his cot and SCREAMING and waking every 2 - 3 hours screaming throughout the night.

This lasted two weeks and then two things happened - one, I consulted a homeopath who prescribed a remedy to 'unravel the damage caused by the MMR' and two, I found some tiny sharp molars pointing though his gums. He took the remedy (quite a battle) on Sat and Sun night, I found the teeth on Monday and today, Tuesday, he has gone to bed with minimal fuss. Four weeks have now passed since the MMR.

So, MMR, teeth or developmental (according to the HV) - my money is on MMR and teeth. Not a great combination and I'd certainly recommend trying a homeopath. I hope things have got better for you and don't feel guilty - you are doing the best that any mum can hope to do.
