aargh - what's going on with 6mo DS?

DS has never been a very good sleeper and has ended up in a bedside cot. He is nearly too big for it now so DH is going to sort out a cot bed to go alongside our bed.

I had norovirus over the weekend and felt dreadful. DH looked after DD and DS while I stayed in bed all day (lovely man) and brought DS to me for feeds as still exbf. Since then, DS won't settle at night at all unless I am actively cuddling him and his head is in the crook of my arm. He also quite likes to nibble all night which I'm finding really annoying.

Is this likely to be a reaction to me being ill which will sort itself out - I suspect I haven't been making as much milk as usual? Or could it be a 6m thing. He's starting solids and also coming close to crawling. No sign of teeth yet. Last night we gave him some calpol in desperation but had no effect so not in any pain or fever.

Any thoughts? Should I try and grit my teeth to get DS sleeping on his own a bit more because while it is lovely having him next to me, I'm sleeping very badly?

Sorry for longwinded post - I'm a bit tired

I don't know much about this but ds is the same age as yours and going through something similar - my gut feeling is that this is not directly related to your being ill (less milk not likely) but a 6m thing, compounded by a change in routine.

Do whatever gets you the most sleep!

I was going to say the opposite to the previous poster - when I had norovirus over Christmas I'm pretty sure I made less milk. It's possible.

And 6m is the time for a major growth spurt so it could also be that.
