CC and Teething?

Hi we did sleep training for my dd -8.5 months when she was 7 months old with controlled crying. Now she is teething- has 1 and another poking through. She has started murmering in the night (only once for the dummy)

I have not been doing CC for this and just been popping the dummy in- is this right? Am I making a rod for my own back?

She is in pain.
Would you like to be left to cry yourself to sleep if you were in pain?

I am not doing CC while she is teething- but when do you start again- when all teeth are through or when symptoms stop? FWIW when we did CC she only cried down and no longer than 20 mins at worse- and we only had to do it a few times.

I know she is in pain- I give her the sachets and occasional calpol.

TBH I would give her more than 'occasional' calpol. Neurofen is better for teething as it's anti-inflammatory. You may find her sleep just settles down again after teeth are in anyway...

Peggotty- so should I give her calpol every night- as I just give it her when she seems really sore, fretful?

If you are sure she is teething, and you seem to be, since you can see the teeth pushing through her gums, then I wouldn't even bother with calpol and go straight for Neurofen, like I said, it's anti-inflammatory, and also lasts longer than calpol. Try it immediately before she goes to bed and see if it helps. My ds has been a nightmare teether, and at one point I was giving him neurofen at bedtime every day for weeks!! As long as you don't go over the recommended daily dose it's fine to give it for longer than 3 days in a row.

cheers I'll try this tonight!
