Clocks changing has screwed the sleep routine!

Hi,

I am new to this and this is my first post out of desperation! My 4 month old little girl used to wake once in the night for 10 mins at 3am but since the clocks changed on sunday she is wide awake from about 12.30 until 4.30am. She isnt crying, just chatting away to herself, but she is keeping us awake and I am worried that she now isnt getting enough sleep. DOes anyone have any ideas how I can get her back to sleeping with just a brief wake up? I cant see how the clocks going forward 1 hour can have such an effect!

Any advice offered will be greatly appreciated!

Amy

i am presuming u keep the room dark, dont talk to her, except maybe shh or sleep sleep, no (minimal) eye contact, make sure nappy not dirty and baby not hungry
try her bedtime routine again? eg feed rock lullaby type stuff to indicate u want her to sleep? walk round house with her in sling maybe but i could never do that at that time
i used to stick DDs mobile on in desperation and often she and i were both asleep by the end, i learnt to sleep through the music, good luck

the room is exactly the same as before, lined curtains and black out blind, we dont make eye contact or talk to her in the night. she is just wide awake, smiling, giggling etc for 4 hours between 12.30 and 4.30 - i cant understand why she isnt tired as she doesnt sleep much in the daytime and its only been since the clocks change! i will take your advice of going back to old routine and moving it gradually over the next few weeks - hopefully that will work! thank you!
