Bedtime for co-sleepers

DS is now 12 weeks old, and for the last few weeks has become more inclined to take a longer sleep at night and shorter daytime naps, which is great. He has been having evening naps in the living room with us (on laps, in his basket or the sling) but I get the feeling he might now be more settled if he went to proper bed a bit earlier. What do you do if you co-sleep but don't want to go to bed really early with your baby? I don't like the idea of him sleeping in a room alone until DP and I go to bed (this is assuming we could get him to sleep without us staying with him anyway, which I realise is unlikely).

My 12 week old is just the same I tend to let him nap on setee until he has his last feed then I have taken the plunge and now put him in his moses at side of my bed with a good baby monitor at about 21.30. He settles really well and its made a huge difference to me just being able to have that time with dh even if its just to sit a watch a film in peace.I know its weird leaving baby alone but you need time aswell or you will forget who you are.At some point you will have to put baby down without you lying next to him so just try it and see if it suits. If not get a tv in your room and go to bed with him, just think of all that beauty sleep!!
