my DC do not sleep, they are awake all day and playing jumping about doing lots of stuff that should make them tired.

They are awake until 1am last night 2.30am they slept.

Does anybody know of any herbal remedies that I can use and that are not too expensive.

Their ages are 6yrs, 4yrs and 2yrs.

Thank you (at end of my teather)

I wouldn't recommend using any sleeping remedies - even herbal ones - but someone else might have had some experience and reply to your query. Do you think they are just not tired at night or perhaps even too tired and hyper / unable to settle or just wanting to be with you rather than be asleep? Have you tried anything else - such as a reward chart for undisturbed nights? Just a thought... Or even homeopathy? I think you'd have to pay for a consultation though as you a homeopath will diagnose very specifically to a problem.

yeh tried a chart, they used to be in a routine, but somehow they got out of it.

I asked in the health shop today and he said to try camomile tea. So will give that a go.

They have come from school tired so hopefully they will sleep without having the tea.

Camomile tea is good - I drink that before bed! It's very calming. Good luck

My goodness. If they don't go to bed til 1.30 and they get up at (i'm guessing) 8am at the latest for school, they can't not be tired. Even a child who doesn't need much sleep can't survive on 6 or 7 hours a night. Are they difficult to wake on a morning? Does their teacher/playschool person say they are tired during the day?

I'm definitely not judging by asking these questions, just curious as to why they can't get to sleep till so late (and feeling very sorry for you). Do they drink fizzy drinks/sweets? This would have an impact on their energy levels. You said you once had a routine, so you know they will respond to it. Perhaps try re-introducing it or a chart like Becky suggested - it might take a few weeks to work but you need to do something or you're gonna go crazy!

If you have a nice bath, some chamomile tea or milk then story and gentle, quiet singing and then be firm and say it's bed time (not shouting) eventually they will pick up on the fact that that's what's happening.

Hope things work out for you

thanks for your replies, DS drank the camomile tea 2 hours ago and still jumping about, the girls wouldnt drink it, and when they have a bath they go even more hyper. No they dont have fizzy drinks or sweets before bed, they just egg eachother on to play.

I have taken them back and forth to the bedroom but when i get one the other 2 make so much noise that the first one cant settle.

The teachers havent said anything about them being tired, I have had on many occasions but they told me they are alert and well in class.
