DD was 2 in December and has always (give or take) gone down to bed really well. She went into a big girl single bed in her new bedroom (to make way for baby in April) the week before Christmas. This went off without much fuss. Did pick up put down maybe 4-5 times on the first night and from then on she got the idea. She carried on having naps in the cot though but I have been training her to go in the bed for the nap. Yesterday she went down for the nap really well. When it came to night bedtime, she wouldn't go down. Cried when we left the room and kept getting up and crying/screaming when put down. Eventually we all went to bed together at 10.30pm. The same thing happened at nap time today and is happening now. DH is just putting her back now. What has suddenly happened to her? HELP!!!

My DD had this at 2 years on the dot, literally the night of her birthday. I got loads of good advice on here and it is apparently very common at this age.

I got a night light that she can have in bed with her, played some music and voila, turns out she had developed a fear of the dark! Odd as she had always slept in a pitch black room. Now she has the job of turning the night light on and putting it in the bed, putting the music on (only a few mins) and other than the professional stalling for time she is cool.

Not much help I suppose but my son was doing exactly this about a month ago.

He's always gone to sleep well, so I made sure that we had a new routine that we'd follow: bath, milk and story and then lights out and time to go to sleep. Gradually he's settled into it and although I'm still in the room with him while he goes to sleep he's usually asleep in 10 mins. I'll work on leaving the room next..

It will get better

Cut the naps, I would. How long are these naps she takes?

1-2 hours puppy. It took about an hour on saturday which wasn't bad but then on Sunday she started with this vomiting bug which is going around so she is more sleepy than usual now. Maybe it has all just happened because of the bug?
