hot night- how many clothes are you putting your ds/dd to bed in tonight?

i am totally paranoid about overheating- ds is 6 months 26 degrees in nursery ive got him in a napy and cotton sleep suit- is this right??!! anyone know?

Dd is just in her reusable and fleece wrap.

And doing the light fantango in her cot by the sounds of it

no blankets/sheets? sounds ok. have a feel of his chest/back after a bit and see if he feels hot.

vest and 2tog sleeping bag tonight. its hot in nursery but expect that temp will drop in night.

hmm yes- thats my only concern that he will be colder in the night.. but he woke with a heat rash ( i think) this morning...

dd will be in shorty pyjamas with a sheet over her (well it will be over her at the start of the night anyway!!). I dont think the temperature will drop too much so I doubt she will get cold.

If he gets colder in the night you can go and put something on him.

It's 27 in my dd's room and she's naked with no bedclothes and a fan on her! (she is 2 though)

My two aren't babies anymore - 6 and 3 - but they have got to bed starkers with windows open. It's too hot for anything IMO. I think if I had a young baby it would be nappy and short sleeve vest.

ds is wearing thin jammys no vest or covers.

Just pullup/nappy, plus vest for dd. No bedclothes.

Just nappy and 0.5 tog grobag.

I'm interested in how worried people are about overheating, my mum had them last night and freaked because they are both in a room with the windows closed (blackout plus burglary risk) but no covers, just a babygro for 19 mo dd and pyjamas for ds, which he can take off if he wants. Surely there's not a risk of heatstroke given those circs? Sorry for hijack but I did wonder whether she was being over worried or if I was being lax, hadn;t occurred to me to worry before!

My DS (7 months) is in just a nappy - no covers. He doesnt like blankets/sheets, and when I put him in a grobag, he looked at me like I was the shit on his shoes and screamed til I took him out of it.

to be honest- it is all the SIDS stuff about overheating that has made me paranoid- but i am sure its an over reaction- i think it would be a problem if i had ds wrapped in woolen blanket with a wolly hat on- but im hoping the differnce between a vest/ sheet etc is not so crucial- unless anyone begs to differ

I left DS with my 80 year old nan for half an hour a couple of months ago, and he was wearing shorts an t shirt (was a v hot day) when I got back, she's wrapped him in a thick blanket. The por sod was sweating his little balls off, but my nan is from the old school, where if a child was wrapped up as if they were going on a 10 month polar expedition regardless of the temp outside!!

PS, please excuse my appalling typing in the last post.

By the way Toria, at 6 months, the chance of a baby being a victim of SIDS falls considerably so don't worry about it.

13 month old is in s/sleeved vest and nappy - I'll pop in and put a thin sheet over her before I go to bed.

DD 10months short pj's no blanket. but is very hot in her bedrom. Live in 2nd floor flat x

12 months, just in vest and nappy.
