Poor DS 9mth has just got his 3rd tooth. On top-Do these hurt more then bottom-Seem to??

He's sleeping 1.5-2hrs then waking. Used powders, Anbesol, and gels and they don't seem to be helping much.

Last nite used Calbropen after 1st wakening and he then slept 5hrs then medcine again then 4hrs so miles better.
But can't keep dosing him up (obs will while still in pain)

What do you use?

Thanks

Oh I was awake much of the Night with DS and his fourth tooth (top one) and YES they seem to hurt a lot more than the bottoms for him...

KNACKERED today - long day at work on 4 hours sleep. SOrry to moan.

I will dose him up on calpol and nurofen and teething powders now. Poor babies.....

I've started using Hylands Teething tablets on DS as he has 4 fangs coming through atm. I only started him on them last night as I didn't want to keep giving him Calpol or Neurofen. Anbesol is also a recent addition which he has when at Nursery and seems to be better than gel.

If he has a dummy what about putting it in the freezer for a while or filling a bottle with water and turning it upside down and placing it in the freezer so the water freezes in the teat end?

I can sympathize totally with you, the other night he was up every hour and decides its time for up at 5am!

just a note of caution, don't put anything frozen for a prolonged period on baby's gums!!! (Frostbite) Tbh, I found the only thing that worked properly was drugs. And I'd want someone to give me a painkiller if I was in pain and unable to get to the medicine cabinet myself

Sorry, I should have added to leave it to defrost slightly first! I was having a think about it earlier and what about brushing DS's gums? I've been doing that to my DS and the look of relief on his face is a picture.

sometimes you really do need to give them some pain relief with medication, some babies are way more sensative than others.
