When did your baby drop from two daytime naps to one?

DS is 12 mos and still has two naps in the day, first one about two hours after getting up, and second one after lunch, total sleep time between 2-3 hours. But recently the gap between naps seems to be getting longer and it's been harder to get him off at night as early as we would like. How old were your DCs when they dropped to one nap, and what were the signs? Thanks!

My DS stopped having 2 naps at 10 months, he then went down for his lunchtime nap very early (11-11.30) until we managed to push it back to 12.30-1pm (which took about a month) so now he has 2/3 hours between 12.30-3.30 (he is 14mo now)

11 months. He used to have his morning nap at about 9am for an hour, then again after lunch for an hour, but he just refused to settle for his morning nap so that was that! He fell asleep in his lunch a few times until he adjusted.

It ended up being quite a good thing actually as it freed up our mornings and also meant that he slept longer in one afternoon nap than he did in the two naps, regularly having 2.5-3 hours.

Great, sounds like he is about the right age, and I'm sure he's ready for it.

Thanks.

My Ds ws about 14 months, it took about a month or so of some random sleep patterns like sleeping between 11-12 and then falling asleep at 3.30 which wasn't great as he wouldn't go to bed at 7pm but gradually when he could have lunch about 12 he lasted a bit longer and has been sleeping for 2 hours between 1215-215 for about 2 months. Sometimes he's very tired so I give him quick lunch about 11.30-45 and in bed by 12 ....you might try bringing lunch earlier to encourage the BIG nap.

About 12 months old. Sign for both of mine was taking longer and longer to fall asleep when I put them down for a morning nap (at 9am, ish), fighting sleep.

For the first few weeks after they dropped that nap it was a struggle to get them to stay awake until lunchtime. I used to have to give lunch at 11/11.30.

Very occasionally (like today ) my 23mo still has 2 naps. He had a very physically active day yesterday, so I think that's why.
