he's my 3rd dc and i should have cracked this by now!

he goes down no problem at 7pm and will sleep till around midnight...changes every night really but he does wake and won't go back to sleep. He's in my room and i'm as quiet as i can be (he's used to a bit of noise though anyway, being the youngest in the house!) so i don't think i'm disturbing him.

I have resorted to giving him milk to get him back to sleep, but recently he's waking more and more times - last night he woke at about 11.30 - he grumbled and i left him and he eventually went back down...then he woke again at about 3-ish (i think) and it was full-on crying. I gave him milk but he still didn't settle and i ended up bringing him into my bed, where he was too restless but eventually dropped off, so I put him back in his cot....

then we were both woken at 6.30 by dd coming in - gah

ds naps for no more than 2 hours max in total through the day

i don't know what to do but at this stage will try anything - i really, really, really need to get some decent sleep myself.

please help me!

ooooh, bump!

Will watch with interest - have 13mth DS who has taken to waking after being unwell almost solidly for months.

Is you DS walking yet? I douns with DS1 that just before he started walking his night sleeping went haywire. DS2 is walking though, and his hasn't settled...

Good luck.

yep, he's been walking since about 10 months! He's very active all day, always stomping about, playing etc

am thinking i will try serious cc tonight. just need to get my strength up for it....i want to stop using the milk to get him to sleep!

will also try feeding him extra weetabix or something similar shortly before putting him down in case he actually is hungry
