Baby Whispering - any success stories?

Just wondering whether anyone has had any success with the Baby Whispering technique. Seems like a good idea but not sure that I want to sacrifice the little sleep that DS affords me doing the PU/PD strategy that she suggests, if ultimately it's impossible to put into practice.

I haven't done PU/PD, but the shush-pat thing works quite well on my 4.5-month old to get him to go to sleep. I started doing the EASY regime to get him to nap during the day, but now he wakes in the night. Not sure if the two are connected, however...

I've used it on all three of mine (now using on newest arrival). It works but it does take time, a lot of time, and patience. Once it works though, it is wonderful.

Feel like I have tried every baby sleep technique going and nothing really worked long term! One thing I havent yet tried is the Baby Whisperers "wake to sleep" idea thats meant to stop early morn waking - ie slightly wake your baby 1 hr before they usually wake -in order to disrupt the bad habit sleep cycle they have got into.Has anyone had success with this? my baby usually wakes between 4-5am (and doesnt go back to sleep at all) so this morn i set my alram for 3.3am and the monkey woke at 3.10am and beat me to it. must have had a 6th sense that i was coming..........

what is the PU/PD technique? (can't find the book). remember doing EASY with DD1 which seemed to work - doesn't seem to work with DD2 though

pu/pd made my DS loopy

way too over stimulating

the wake to sleep technique is good - have used it and it worked

however the breastfeeding advice is shocking beyong belief

Did shush and pat, took a while to drift off at the start (about 45mins of hugging shushing etc but that was how it was and it worked, gradually. Glad because I think that meant we didn't have to do controlled crying etc later. DS who is 2.5 sleeps from about 7.30pm to about 9am and all we do now is read a bit of winnie-the-pooh and he drifts off to sleep at bedtime. Never left him to cry and always responded quickly when he does. So worked really well for us all and will follow BW sleep advice with DC2.

We did pu/pd on my DD at 19 weeks as we couldn't get her to nap anywhere except when out walking with pram also used to take around 2 hours to get her settled at night. Now she naps in cot and takes anywhere from 5-20 mins to settle at night. Was horrific screaming to get pu/pd to work but saw very quick results and now only have to actually do pu/pd about once every 10 days. Worth a try but as far as I know doesn't work for all babies as it can over stimulate. Now I need to figure out how to extend her naps! Best of luck.
