ds is 9 months and crap at going to sleep unless in dark and quiet. dd 3 years and v cheeky and talkative - have to go to her at least 3 times after lights out to do various "things". any idea how they will fall asleep in same room? or should we stagger bedtime? any tips would be great, tia Dinny

Dinny, IIRC we staggered bedtime when we first put ds1 and ds2 in together. I think we put ds1 down first because he was good at falling asleep and not easily woken. If we'd put ds2 down first and he was asleep, ds2 might wake him up with his chattering!

Now we put them down together but I'm seriously thinking of staggering them after reading another thread recently. They are 4 and 2.5 now, both in a bed and they just chat and mess about for ages! Might start putting ds2 down first as he's the most troublesome!

Forgot to say, when we first put them together ds2 was about 5 months I think and ds2 about 2.

ds1 about 2 even.

thanks GDG, fear we have an awful night ahead as neither are sound sleepers

Our two share, and love it. They really like the company, and chat to each other. The way we do it is to read dd (nearly 2) her stories with her milk, while ds (4) plays in play room or on computer. Then, dd goes in her cot, and ds has his stories with his milk, so dd listens to the stories, and drifts off. Ds is brilliant at staying in bed because he knows that if he does he gets computer time the next day!

Hope you have a good night.
