Any advice on good bunkbeds?

Hi,
I'm looking for nice bunkbeds that will eventually turn into single beds. Any particular recommendations?
Do you think bunkbeds will be cheaper in Jan sales?

I bought a very nice bunk bed from Aspace. They are quite pricey but are solid and convert to single beds later.

Flexa are a good make. We have the right-angle bunks and will split them into two beds so that ds2 will get one when he graduates from his cot. We're very pleased with ours. They should last a good many years, because they're strong enough and comfy enough for an adult.

M&S ones are great, very solid and look lovely - on offer at about £320 at the moment

Sorry, just seen they are back up to £399 but they often have 20% off furniture

We did lots of research and bought the m and s ones in the summer for £320- includes matresses. They are lovely and chunky- we are delighted with them. And the best bit is they put them together for you in the room free of charge!

Thanks for tips, will look at all of the above online. We're not in a big rush so will hang in until Jan sales.

I can recommend the M&S ones too - the fact that they assembled them swung it for me. With two boisterous boys I wanted someone else to make sure they were securely built!

Chrysanthamum · 13/11/2009 19:56

Yes definitely a plus that they assemble them. I priced them today and theyre 399 so I'll keep an eye to see if they get reduced again.

we're also looking into this at the moment. really like these; but am a bit concerned about the ladder. mightn't it be a bit difficult to negotiate, esp coming down? and in the night...??

We bought Argos ones. The bunk bed itself is great - really well made (and easy to put together). But the mattresses that came with it were so awful that we had to buy new ones pretty soon. (So price that it, if you go for argos ones!)
