hi kama- this is tricky isn't it- if he slept through i could be consistent - but at 2am if he falls back asleep i aint waking him to ensure no breast-sleep connection!!!!!

Haven't used this technique, but have followed Tracy Hogg's method for getting dd1 to sleep through & it worked like a charm (she was bottlefed at that time though,so it was easier). My friend also borrowed my Baby Whisperer book to get her 11 month old to sleep without his dummy & it worked at the 1st attempt-so we are big BW fans in this house.

Good luck

i was going to post a message about this too.

am feeling like a really bad mum after having been to a mummy/toddler group .

i am guilty of feeding dd to sleep - it sounds really bad but i didnt know any better . she always goes to sleep after b/f no matter what time of day.

i watched the baby whisperer programme today and we have been doing it all wrong .

dd is now 7.5 months old.

i tried the EASY plan tonight but gave up ... making me feel even worse ...

one thing that i'm not sure about tho - dd is pulling herself to stand in her cot. as soon as i put her down she crawls to the bars, stands and if i dont pick her up she starts to cry. should i lie her down as soon as she stands?

also, when i put her down she cries straight away, sits (sobbing) and pulls herself up on the bars and cries. i pick her up an calm her down and she just cries as soon as i put her back down. this continued for about 3 hours and i just couldnt cope anymore so i gave her a feed .

ah slave- you were not doing it wrong- just making life a bit more difficult for yourself like me!!!!!
i think you are meant to keep going with the pick up put down- even if it goes on for hours, but just try again another time

at that age are you sure he's not waking with teething pain?

slavetobabe - I feed DS to sleep and he's a happy mite. There's nothing wrong with doing that if you're both happy. He will get to an age where he'll be more responsive to self-soothing.

This whole obsession with sleeping through the night and sleep training tiny babes does my head in.
