What age did you put dc in own room?

I know the advice is 6 months, which isn't going to happen as there is not enough room in our room for cot and ds is rapidly getting too big for moses basket.

He is 7 weeks old, but appears to sleep much better without me! When I put him in our room and leave him (with monitor) he sleeps for 4-5 hours. If I go to bed with him it is only 1-2!!

So I am wondering about putting him in own room with a breathing monitor. Anyone else do this early?

do you have a pram carrycot? They can be a bit wider than some moses baskets.

Well over 2yrs. In fact she still gets back in with us now if she wakes up. She's 2 and a half.

Our twins went into their own room on their 3rd night home from hospital (so just about a week old) We couldn't sleep with them in the room with us, and I found tandem breastfeeding really hard in bed so had to take them through to the nursery to use the feeding chair anyway. Like Oblomov, we knew the risks, but weighed it up and decided it was best all round. They were fine, and were sleeping through from 11 - 7 by 10ish weeks.

Thanks.

It isn't the width of the moses basket but the length. 5 months! My friend's 9 week old is already in 6 month old clothes cos of his length- his head touches top of moses basket and feet touch end.

I am glad I am not the only one who can't sleep without all the snuffling, grunting, squeaking etc.

I will think on it a bit longer. We did co-sleep for a while (he refused to go in basket to stat with) but I can't sleep as he kicks me! And I go all stiff and end up with back ache.

I'm not sure why he still fits. LOL! He is 5 months but wears 6-9 months clothes, as I say he is a big boy! It is a bit of a squeeze but he does fit... The main reason he is still in it though is because up to about a week ago he didn't have bedroom... We have now all swapped around and his cot has been built. Just waiting for his new mattress to arrive and then we can think about moving him...
